Al Blades Sr vs Alex Brown

So you're an expert in football AND fighting? Color me shocked. @SWFLHurricane the person who pretty much EVERYONE on this board disagrees with has settled this debate. Case closed.
I never once said I am an expert in football. In fact I have said the exact opposite. However, when it comes to fighting yes I am an expert. Pretty much everyone on this board that posts frequently in the boxing/mma threads know that I know my schit when it comes to fighting.

Did you watch the video? He says something like "Briggs was a HW champ, but McKinnie never gave up a sack at the U" lmao like that means anything about fighting skill.

Then he says McKinnies go to move was to grab him by his dreads and yank him down. Seems like Ed has spent too much time watching his sisters fight or something to come up with that as McKinnies go to move. not to mention before he could even grab the dreads(which is a very slow move) he would have been KOd had this went down like it actually occurred. Go watch any MMA match. You are never going to see someone get neck control without eating a few shots or setting it up with punches prior. If you think McKinnie just reached out with both hands and grabbed Shannons hair, you are delusional.

Not to mention if Shannon actually got his *** kicked like they said and had his face gashed up. It would have been a huge deal in the boxing community since he wouldn't be able to spar for a period of time. It would be like Brady breaking his arm in practice and none of the NFL insiders hearing anything about it while he stays away from practice for months for it to heal.

IDK if McKinnie whooped Briggs, but Briggs did whoop one of our former players. Matter of fact, Briggs had to pay this player a settlement, ******* e d His eye up real bad.

So absolutely no chance it happened?

McKinnie was a scrapper. Dude was mellow AF when hanging out but he was the first to jump into something. FTR he claims he was the one that gave Brown the black eye.
He can claim it all he wants (And I LOVE Bryant)...But I know Blades was the one who dotted that eye....

The only way McKinnie is walking up to Briggs, grabbing him by his hair, yanking him down. Then taking his back while pounding on his head. Is if Briggs was blacked out and on the verge of passing out.

A collar tie is basically the MMA equivalent to grabbing someones hair. In order to do something like that on someone equal speed as you, you need to either eat shots or strike to open up the opportunity. Briggs is WAY faster than McKinnie. No chance he can collar tie with Briggs before him landing a shot. And one shot from Briggs without gloves is going to shatter McKinnies face.

Now lets say Briggs was wasted and this turned out like Ed said and he had a fvcked up face. Insiders would have heard about it , or at minimum there would be rumors why Briggs hasn't been sparring for the past month or so due to facial gashes. That never occurred.

Briggs has told his side of the story numerous times too and it is much more believable and actually makes sense.

Holy **** some of these threads today.

I boxed when I was a kid. I can't fight Shanmon Briggs. There are weight classes for a reason.

Yeah, I could kick the *** of bigger dudes who don't know how to fight. But the ones who do, forget it.

I would never fight McKinnie. He's too large.

Jesus Christ.

You might be right. But - I've been in enough fights to know anything can happen. Especially with a dude that big. I never heard that he grabbed him by his hair but if so then, yea. Seems unlikely.

Saw Brown one time in the drive through at Checkers in his little Toyota Corolla. Dude was falling out of that car. That is a 6'7 260 mammoth and Blades slapped him around.

That is what Ed said in the video. He said he walked up to McKinnie and yanked him down by his dreads. That is basically my point. If Ed said "we beat up Briggs"I would have said ok that sounds very unlikely, but maybe he was wasted or someting. But the way he described it just made it sound like total BS.

For sure anything can happen but somethings are just out of the realm of possibilities especially when we are talking about a HW champion. Like the difference between a street fighter and an amateur fighter is crazy. I used to get in a lot of street fights myself as a kid. The people that say "trained fighters don't fight in the streets" are wrong. A lot o the ammy guys I knew used to run the streets when it came to street fights they would destroy the "tough guys" with no training. Those same guys would get bodied by the high level ammys. I was a decently high level ammy myself(not national level or anything) but I placed pretty high at multiple regional events and when I would spar with pros it was a world of difference. Those same pros wouldn't last a few rounds with champions. let alone the HW champ. Not to mention McKinnie isn't even a fighter he is a football player. A very big one. Look at all the football players that switch to boxing and MMA they lose a ton of weight since being that big is a detriment in a fight.

You are correct but McKinnie is in Briggs weight class. This is not McKinnie beating up Vasyl Lomanchenko. Also, in a street fight weight classes mean significantly less. If Vasyl was to jab a much bigger man in the throat or throw a jab with an open hand and get a finger in his eye. The results will be the same no matter how big the guy is. And no average person is dodging an ungloved Vasyl jab.

Found the story, dude's name was Brian Stinson:

I don't have an account, but that part I believed. If Briggs hits some little DB in the mouth breaking his jaw is the best case scenario lol.

The only football cat that I think can give a guy like Briggs a run for His money, is the cat that put that Boise St. player to sleep some years ago, dude had some hands LOL.
