Portal AJ Stanton-McCray to Portal

Miami Hurricanes guard AJ Staton-McCray has officially put his name back on the transfer portal market after spending one year with the Hurricanes.

The 6'5", 200-pound Staton-McCray is leaving after playing 17 out of 31 games in his only season in Coral Gables. He averaged 7.3 points with a shooting percentage of 40.4%, plus 2.4 rebounds and 1 steal per game during the 2024-25 season at Miami.

But with Larranaga stepping down and Jai Lucas filling in as the new head coach at Miami, it’s no shock to see McCray put himself on the market. He was the last remaining piece from this season’s team yet to make a decision on his future. A full-on rebuild is officially underway in Coral Gables.

Not a single returning player. Possibly not even a single recruit sticks

Crazy times
Yea there's a decent chance there's zero turnover from this year's team sans a walk-on or 2. I'm not sure if there's much precedent for that.

As I predicted, not a single returning player from last year.

Jai said in his introductory press conference that he was assuming he'd have to fill 13 spots. He wasn't kidding.
