I saw on Rivals that his OV is this weekend and he is still going to visit Bama and Tennessee after us. Do you think it's better to have this visit or the last visit? I'm not sure where we stand with him, but he is by far my favorite offensive recruit this cycle.

You can't have everyone's last visit. You need to get your message across to the kid and out-sell the other programs no matter when his OV is. We've got the single most important advantage that none of these other programs have--this is his home.

Last visit would have been better. I'm sure bama will show him a good time. I expect Ridley will be showing him around.

NSD is about 4 weeks away. These kids have known for a long time where they going, so visit timing doesn't matter. He knows where he's going plus he's visited The U plenty times before.

in sales, if you're the best closer, you want the first appointment.... If you're not, you want the last

Hopefully Richt closes the **** outta this kid this weekend and he doesn't even want to take the Bama trip..

another advantage we have is Brad Kaaya

Exactly. By the time January 29 rolls around Richards should be so locked in he either doesn't take that last visit or goes there to recruit for UM.

And that should be huge to anyone looking to make a living catching a football.

I wan him on campus with kids that are currently committed.

The last weekend visit is overrated.

He has been on campus numerous times already, its time the coaching staff closes on him!! Shouldn't need the last visit to get him

He knows us very well and the coaches will sell him. Players are Aldo close with him and we have qbs now and in the future that will make him a star so the last visit won't matter too much

THIS. As far as I can remember going back (at least 15years), the last weekend has always been filled with mostly pie in the sky out of state kids, and it typically bears little fruit. Rare is the kid that is going to be swayed at the 11th hour like that. Also the weekend when we see the most cancellations, which shows you how big a deal the last weekend really is. Get their asses in the door ASAP.

Last visits can be tricky. It's usually seen as best to have the last visit but sometimes recruits like other schools so much that they commit and cancel the last visit or already have their mind made up. I think as long as it's a January trip it's good

Look back on the last few years and you will see we typically do not get kids that visit last.

I think last visit is overrated too. I'd prefer to have these last couple weeks to continue talking to him about what he saw on his visit.

This, if he's sold I doubt he takes the rest of his visits.

In sales there are advantages to being first or last. If you are first, then you set the agenda with items that no competitor can measure against....ie. close to home, private schools, smaller classes, value of scholarship, etc.

The advantage of being last is you have the opportunity to listen to what the prospect likes about all your competitors and then you counter decisively, plus add your own advantages. Your competition has trouble countering.

If you're really good at selling your product, you can close the deal regardless of what order you are in the process, however, if you have a prospect that is on the fence and undecided, either first or last is preferred.

All of what I said above assumes a level playing field. But in the real world the playing field is rarely level.

For kids like Wims, Burns, Finley, Stove, Logan you want the last trip to impress them like crazy when they're gaining interest rapidly. Some recruits IMO will be mentally done after this weekend because they're halfway here but others ate torn and we would need to be the last school they see to win out
