Some defensive ideas and Al Golden "Utilizing Safeties to Stop the Run"

First to start off with some a quick defensive thoughts:

1 Mistake on Offense= 2nd Down
2 Mistakes on Offense= 3rd Down
3 Mistakes on Offense= Punt
1 Mistake on Defense= 6pts!!!

This is the stress of a defensive coordinator.




Passive coaching philosophy? It all makes sense now....
Mediocre 1st season = contract extension
Mediocre 2nd season with worst D in school history = stay the course, change nothing
Mediocre 3rd season with 2nd worst D in school history = stay the course, change nothing
Mediocre 4th season with continued issues on D and now issues on O = New job? Stay the course?

Can someone elaborate a little bit on the defensive philosophies shown here?

In all seriousness much love to all canes fans. we got enough anger, hurt and negativity towards the staff..dont need to recreate that amongst ourselves.
