Some of you can thank me later.

Best sub shop in Miami is a mom and pop that's been around for over 30 years...and it's still in the same place it's always been. I call it old reliable.....the commoners know it as "Subs, etc". It's on Bird Road and about 64th avenue in a little strip mall next to Tria's. Maybe like 5 minutes from UM campus.

This is hands down the best steak and cheese I've had anywhere in Miami. The longtime owners look like they're about to sell or might have already sold by the time I type this but I did go a few weeks ago on a day where the "new" people were cooking the subs and I'm happy to say the quality is still excellent.

You're all welcome. I've been to all the places many of you Philistines mentioned in this thread and none of them are on Subs etc's level.
Great shout. Used to go there every Saturday from when I was like 7 until I moved for college

Patience my friend.
a look into opening day 2026:

Mensah out of the gun.
Fletcher set to his right.
Barkate and Vaughn split wide.

Mali and Jacobs out of the slot.

Mali motions left….

Mensah takes the snap.
Matt McCoy smoked at LT and SACKED!! Mensah goes down. He looks like he’s hurt, Bob. Took a shot to his blind side there.

4th down and the Canes will punt. He had 3 men wide open but no time to get rid of it. Looks like the 7th year sophomore Alex Bauman, who just got his waiver approved last week after a lengthy court battle, was supposed to help there and just fell asleep.

/I kid (I hope)

100% in agreement. I've been going there since I moved to Miami in 1989. IYKYK

Duke board summary.

Mensah has 3 choices:
1. Go back to Duke and get $4m
2. Go to Miami and pay a lot of money.
3. Sit out

Don't think he wants to come back but #1 is his best option.
LSU took 3 quarterbacks, three of the top 5 rated players including one from Lane’s old team and no one is saying anything about them. Mensah decides to transfer and somehow that will break the cfp? Players have entered the portal committed and then signed with another team. One of our players entered the portal while on our playoff run and then committed to the team we would play against in the natty. No one bats an eye. These dudes can eat a whole ****.

I used to work at SubMania on US1 and 124th in college. We made a **** good Philly Cheese. So many former Canes came in. I served The Rock, Jimmy Sikora, Gino Toretta, Steve Edrwards, lots of coaches. I can't even remember them all.

You don't think that is off set with a Miami NIL deal? What exactly are the damages? You making a pay for play argument?

I've already re-upped but how many total season tickets are there for 2026? What's the cap now?

I've been there, and yes it's good....but Subs etc is still king IMO.

I went to the LaSpada's on 46 last weekend while I was running some errands, not sure if it's going downhill or if they just had an off day, but it wasn't great. Which is surprising because usually they're on point.

@TheOriginalCane Have you ever been to Lawless Subs on 436 just a few blocks west of I4? I've been going there since 1999 / 2000ish when I worked in the area during / after college. Hands down one of my favorite places to eat when I'm in Altamonte.

The guy from LaSpada's SoFla is the guy that owns that LaSpada's (Sanford), but I think he's not always in the store. If some bozo was slack about making the sandwich, I could see that happening.

As for Lawless, yes, I grew up in Altamonte, so I'm familiar. I now spend more time at my brother's house in Sanford than my mom's house in Altamonte because she keeps the temperature at 90 degrees, otherwise I'd be hitting Lawless, I'd be hitting Tibby's, I'd be hitting Burger Vault.

Consider this before listening to Duke board….how many on this board would you actually listen to?
