So their goal is to get some money compensation out of this? Because the football side of it doesn’t make sense. The kid doesn’t want to be there. If he did he would have done what the Washington kid did. With that in mind, why would you fight to keep a quarterback that doesn’t want to be at your program?

It’s that but mainly to get their pound of flesh from us (in humiliation and make our life difficult).

They know the ending but are just making it annoying for us.

Nah not worried about the city.. The team, offense..

Honestly the offense he ran at Tulane is closer to a "Mario type" offense, but he showed this year he can sling it around (though he's best at play action or RPO). His best throws are intermediate and crossing routes, though he does have nice touch on deep balls. He's not a runner. At all. He can scramble, but Beck might actually be a better or equal runner.

With all of that said, I think he'll have a great season at Miami. I don't think he'll throw for 4,000 yards like he did this year, but that's only because of our offense here. If you want to see what he might look like with Toney, watch his highlights at Tulane with Mario Williams who had 1,000+ yards receiving Mensah's year at Tulane.

How is the Duke Booster judge able to make any type of ruling… even if temporary before the new judge hears the case on 2/2?

Seems like he should have immediately disclosed his conflict of interest and recused himself before handing down even a temporary ruling.
The problem is that with state court judges, they are all alumni of some local school; Duke, UNC or NCSU in that state. And that alone is not enough for a conflict of interest because it could impact too many cases. So I’m actually impressed that this judge recused himself at all. After all, we have Supreme Court justices who have obliterated the concept of conflict of interest.

But honestly in the end I don’t think any of this will impact the final outcome.

If today is the last day to register or add classes at UM, does anyone know if UM has split semesters? The school where I teach has "A" session which is the full 16 week semester and B and C sessions which are 8 week semesters (B the first 8 weeks and C the last 8 weeks).

Probably only for executive programs ..

maybe find a way to get a registration extension outside of major or something for 1 semester, just to allow them to be able to practice during spring, then in summer correct the registration to begin working toward major again.

After this incredible season and the financial investment for Mensah, he will get into any class he needs to get in at any time he wants. Lol

Just guessing here obviously, but Duke may be using the threat of injunctive relief to leverage a better financial settlement. And by granting the TRO in part the judge gave them that leverage. So they basically have 2 weeks to try to extract a settlement. They risk losing a lot of their leverage if the PI hearing is held and they lose. Aside from that, the PI really does nothing to help Duke (dude is not going back there) and only harms Mensah, which they surely understand is really bad optics and could cause longer-term damage.

What happens if they say **** it.. lets ignore the judge and not put him in the portal
