So no irreparable harm if you are still able to replace him with another QB
That’s the argument I’m interested to hear. I’m not a lawyer, not even close to one. But wouldn’t your best argument be we couldn’t find a QB? We stand to go from the ACC Champ to a middling team? Now if they make that argument they’d basically be admitting the QB they just portaled in is ***.

Whoever said earlier it’s just a three year old pitching a tantrum is right.

Just get him in the portal today and I'll be happy. Waiting till 2/2 for the next update is brutal, already dreading how many times I'll open this **** forum. Not too concerned unless he's not enrolled by spring ball.

I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express so I don't understand how this would not cause HUGE damages for Mensah (not being able to enroll and participate in Spring practice) against Duke when he ultimately prevails.
The TRO is only until the Feb 2 hearing. Can he not enroll after that? Don't know the school/NCAA regs on that.

I believe the last day to enroll at UM for the Spring semester is 1/21. I have also heard that Joe E has waived that date for transfer portal student athletes.

I'm sure that is not the case for every school so this TRO (in my opinion) could cause meaningful damages to Mensah.

Think he has to be enrolled by a certain date to play spring ball. I’m assuming that date is before Feb 2, but that’s just a guess. If that’s right, he won’t play spring ball. Neither did Beck, so, not worried about that. Just hope he prevails on the 2nd and is free to enroll elsewhere.

It also causes damages to the University of Miami. NIL, transfers, etc are all allowed by the rules of the NCAA, as evidenced by Duke using these exact things to get the kid in the first place.

Seems like these actions are directly to hurt the University of Miami, and a 21 year old kid, purely out of spite.

Ok. So I would guess they waive it for him. Also don't think there is any way Duke can establish irreparable harm or likelihood of success at trial, so I think he will be free to transfer and practice as the NIL$ issue is resolved through settlement or litigation. They may of course leverage the unknown damages he'd suffer if he can't enroll (wink, wink) to try and get Duke to settle before the 2nd.
