Agree or Disagree

Then why do they keep moving us up? The dude said we’ve moved up the most out of anyone since they released the rankings if I heard him right. Seems like they’re creating a path for us to get in..
Tied for most
  • Miami: 18 → 12 (+6)
  • Michigan: 21 → 15 (+6)
  • Tennessee: 25 → 19 (+6)

We now control our own destiny if we beat Pitt convincingly (17+)
Another win over a ranked team would be huge.

Now should Bama, OU, ND or BYU fall that would be massive

But in the other hand if Texas or Michigan pull off an upset this weekend...that could very well hurt us.

We haven’t controlled our own destiny since SMU. Mario and his staff blew it. Again.

Some of us on here started warning about the bull**** run game conservatism during the ND game. We got told to shut up. It got so bad the average 12 year old knew our tendencies. Then Dawson snapped at a reporter for asking a legitimate question. It continuously ****ed our season keeping games close and finally ended it in Dallas.

So again, no we don’t and I don’t want to hear about how good we’ve looked since then. Maybe next year it won’t take 2 losses and a public pressure campaign for our staff to change things up when they aren’t working.

Right but Tennessee has 0 path to a CFP spot and Michigan might get in with a win over Ohio State. That’s a game we should all pay attention to. I think as long as we beat Pitt, our CFP chances are like 70%. It’s impossible to say or know for sure because there’s 10000 different things that can happen and then we leave it up to 12 members to decide, but I think a win puts us in an excellent position to compete for an at-large bid. And no I don’t think we have to win by 100 and seriously question how much any of that crap matters in all this. Since when do we say “oh you beat Pittsburgh by 10 well we beat them by 17, we’re the better team!”. That, is not how football works and never has.

They’re moving us up for a reason and putting us in position to get in. That’s what I’m seeing and based on that, I’m more confident than the majority of people here. And hey, if we don’t get in at 10-2, we’ll have every right to be ****ed off and dust off those old torches and pitchforks! Maybe even hang a fake “National Championship” banner over Hard Rock like our Central Florida buddies!

If Miami beats Pitt convincingly this weekend, we might not get in, but it's going to be a s*** show for the committee to deal with the questions for a long, long time.

The worst case scenario for this committee is if Alabama loses and BYU beats Texas Tech in their conference game. In that scenario, Miami goes to #11 and Notre Dame goes to #10, with Miami being first out and Notre Dame being first in. Especially if Miami handles Pitt. It's why they started in with the, "it's actually not a grouping thing, Notre Dame is just better".

Wonder what will happen if Bama and BYU lose their conference championship games (not close) and we win big at Pitt

5 SEC
3 B1G
Big 12 champ
ACC champ
G5 champ
ND

That is how the field will most likely look. I just dont see an at large path without a couple major upsets like Bama, OU, Ole Miss or ND losing this weekend. ACC chaos is probably our best bet. We should be Big Wake, VT and Cal fans this weekend.

Disagree. **** a 3 loss Bama (SECCG loss) will get in over us. This has nothing to do with schedule, resume, or the like. It’s about ratings, ESPN/SEC, blue bloods, and teams that aren’t us. We needed to be perfect or one loss. There is no reason to play the ND game next year. Play G5 and FCS schools makings sure you schedule one for November as a 3rd bye. Chances are there will be one ranked ACC team on the schedule. Make it an old school Big East run the table schedule and waltz in at 11-1 or 12-0.

Just accept that we’re not jumping ND and we need 2 teams to lose Saturday and you will grieve with it all much more quickly. It’s a beauty pageant and not a résumé

Maybe you need 1 of Oklahoma/Alabama to lose Saturday and BYU losing big to TTU in the Big 12 championship could do it but I wouldn’t count on it. Maybe ole Miss losing the egg bowl and Kiffin leaving for LSU is another path, but again, wouldn’t count on it.

Best chance is still 2 of Duke/SMU/Virginia losing Saturday.

All that being said, we still have to win on the road against a top 25 team in November. That’s at 12 o’clock. Everything else follows. I’ll start paying attention around 3:30.
I think we need to move past BYU next week that way they don't have to "Drop" them for losing CCG the following.

It's just a bone. It quiets the noise a little bit right now. But everything they say contradicts what was said previously

They have a huge issue on their hands with the 9-2 group . I just listened to Josh Pate go off on the committee for movingn the goal posts and reinterpreting their own criteria every week.

this is another unanticipated result of the transfer portal and NIL.....
