After the Storm: Pitt

Why no more designed rushes for N’Kosi? I get he is 125lbs soaking wet but the one QB draw he did run netted some great yardage. As others have said the WR’s want to run their **** mouthes and go hopping on Twitter and IG, but when their number is called what did they do? Drop about every **** pass thrown their way. Freaking Langham’s should have been a TD. It doesn’t help Perry’s confidence throwing balls only to see them be dropped constantly. Hopefully this will be a major point of emphasis during the bowl practices.

I’m torn about who to play - playing A&M would be a fantastic measuring stick for the defense but also could end in a blowout and not by our hands. I think the safer bet is the Taxslayer Bowl up here in JVille against South Carolina. Bentley is a decent QB so this could serve as the measuring stick game while also being much more manageable game to win.

Oh btw, great game by the defense. They absolutely smothered Pitt be it on the ground or the air!!!

Great write up, as usual. I, for one, want A&M. Miami use to be a "anywhere, anytime" team. We should be that way now even if it means a tough game. Plus, I want the guys practicing with a sense of urgency. If they play UAB, the practices will probably be weak and we will play down to the competition. Our defense will keep us in any game. Put some pressure on the offense to perform. That is how you get better.

Put me down as one of the guys who don’t want A&M that d line against our Oline would make the bowl game painful to watch

Yup and South Carolina’s d line as well with the kid Sandidge (who we recruited) and transfer Belk from Clemson, they gave Clemson’s o line problems. Muschamp’s comments about the ACC are bulletin board material though. He has some nerve being smug and sucking so bad.

A successful passing game means your quarterback gets into a rhythm. Perry looked tentative all night as if his major role was not to make a mistake. That’s important but at some point Richt needs to tell him or whoever to relax, trust his talent and score touchdowns. Malik was the same way last year but he compensated with good running which teams have shut down this year. I just wonder if we have a qb on our roster that Richt can trust enough to loosen the leach. This micromanaged system is not going to win games. Stefan, am I wrong?
It doesn’t help that besides a Go route by our fast WRs there is absolutely no scheming to get our WRs open by Richt’s play design

There is little separation, which is what happens when you run Richt’s route combinations..... Plus all the drops and it’s no wonder NKosi had such a poor outing

Good summary of the finale against Pitt. @Stefan Adams would question your assessment of the OL last couple games. Canes have averaged 350 yards on ground and OL has kept Perry somewhat clean when attempting passes.
Perry still raw at position, but wonder would he be better had he played all year, (might be broken beyond repair).
As you said receivers atrocious, can just imagine how much more efficient offense would be if we had Payton and Haselwood lining up in place of Langham/Cager and Harley

Thanks for your work this year.

If I recall, the punts were line drives that rolled and bounced 25-35 yards.

that actually may have been on purpose since they have gone more to rugby style kicking instead of putting air under the ball to go 40 yards up and 35 yards long.
