Not saying head coach, where have any assistants gone and had success as assistants or coordinators? Hint, not many. Now, take Oklahoma for example, Venebales, Leach, Sumlin, Kevin Wilson, Reilly just to mention a few. The point is simple, our ADs have made horrible choices for 18 years. Hopefully Manny works out.

Were you born yesterday. Saban brought in future NFL stalwarts like Jim Kelly, Fred Marion, Ronnie Lippett, Lester Williams and more. He had great role players like Chriss Hobbs, Smokey Roan, Larry Brodsky, Mike Rodrique and more. He established discipline where it didn't exist before. He used Ottis Anderson properly and spotlighted him in the offense. Howard had a great nucleus to start with and built upon it. If you KNOW ANYTHING about Canes football you will know Saban played a key role in Miami football
 
Saban also brought Jim Burt with him from Orchard Park NY along with Larry Pfohl aka Lex Luger

Larry was a nice guy, totally overmatched in that position. Butch handed him the keys to a New Ferrari with a full tank of gas, Larry brought it back wrecked on empty

The fact that we won 5 NCs under 4 different coaches and had another create the greatest team ever over twenty years of dominance is unmatched in college football. All other periods like it for any other team was mostly due to one coach, like the current on of Bama and Saban. Not even ND can touch that fact.

The U is unique in college football history. USC compares to us but it’s great times were father apart and again due to individual great coaches. No matter how many titles Saban wins at Bama, they will be his titles, not the program’s. We and our players from that time stand alone. The university should be ashamed it allowed, destroyed such a brand.
 
For the love of God don't mention Botch with those other great coaches . Apples and Oranges.
