we have gone straight downhill with coaching hires. Hopefully Manny can turn this trend around. Just think of the coaching trees of the 80 and 90s and who they produced and compare that to the last 18 years. Scary.

Larry, Randy, Al and mark all failed miserably. Chud and Mark Stoops from the 2001 staff are two of our assistants that did pretty well for themselves after working for Coker.

Please don’t forget the coach that set the table for Schnellenberger, Lou Saban.

Richt was the beginning of the uptick. Facilities. 1 freaking million donated. Took losing so hard he was in tears at BC game. Hired Manny. Climb to #2. Stepping down with minimal pain to cane family. Now Manny has to launch the full reboot.

there was NO table set for Howard, as a matter of fact Miami was one sneeze from shutting down the football program in 1979

Jim Kelly was the prize the Lou left under the tree. Lou did improve stuff, but Howard did all the heavy lifting and is true savior of the program and founding father of THE U.

You must be in PR. That was really good spin for Mark. I’ve been hard on Mark this year but now that he is no longer our hired *****, he can go back to Cane family member.

We were in full cardiac arrest when he stepped down. Never was there a less self aware, disinterested, prideful coach who still would be calling his own crappy plays if it weren't for his nepotism.

Well as I do agree the shut down talk was going on, Lou Saban did save this program with talent. If you don’t believe that , you probably don’t believe that Otis Anderson was 1 of our greatest running backs. It’s just history and facts. Truth is truth.

I disagree. Lou Saban was here for two years before Howard showed up and he got the ball rolling in the right direction. He was the one who recruited Jim Kelly and he also won the recruiting battle for Carol City's own Lester Williams who was the #1 player in America at the time. Under Saban, the local perception of Miami began to change. The two classes he recruited to Miami were dynamite and many were major contributors during Howard's early years.

We had a real AD named Sam Jankovich. While the old administration was sleeping and continued to treat UM athletics as an after thought, he quietly said **** you and built a program. When the powers that be realized the sleeping giant had awakened, they denied Howard his on campus stadium.

We went from our assistants being coveted guys to a bunch go nobodys. Chud and Mark Stoops are the only two guys from the 2001 staff that advanced. Randy had a short stint at UM and we all know how that worked. We have struck out in our hires in the last 18 years. What other coaches have succeeded after they left UM?

Facilities upgrade began with golden. But the. Again, since I refuse to give golden credit for anything, I guess we should put that notch in Morks belt.
