People keep ignoring the fact this is Al Golden's scheme.

IF Golden decides to drastically change things, my guess is he'll allow MDO to try and make the changes.

I'm not forgetting it at all. I think he has to go even if he and Duh know it's THEIR defense because if he doesn't, then the program will have no momentum going into next season. Fans will be rabid looking for blood.

It's really the only hope for giving the fans hope. If you don't at least give the impression that you're trying to fix this historically bad defense, then the tide will turn rapidly against Corch Al.

I think a Bowl Win over an SEC team and a heisman trophy winner would give us hope as well.

You're not beating any competent teams with that defense. LULZ at the thought of stopping LSU or A&M with that **** pile defense. They'll never punt. It's nice to keep hoping and dreaming, but it's never going to happen.

That's why whistling through the graveyard and simply hoping it will turn around because we beat some awful teams this year and have a decent overall record is a bad approach. You're just hiding from the truth when you do that. We can continue to beat the Pitts and UVags of the world with this defense even though they walk over us with their horrible offenses.

But if you want to start getting to the next level of beating great teams like Puke and Vag Tech with the Coastal on the line, then you need to at least TRY to fix the defense. You'll continue to have your death struggles with the lowly likes of Weak Florist and UNC every year where the games can go either way.

And if you don't try or give the impression you're trying, then the fans will turn en masse. It'll get really ugly down here if he doesn't can Duh and hand the D over to someone with their own plan.

We haven't blitzed well in the 3 years Corch Al's been here. You mean to tell me we haven't had a player in 3 years that could blitz? LULZ.

This horse has been beaten not only to death but quite possibly into extinction. However, I think the only way Coach D is gone after this season is if he takes a lateral position at another University of takes a position coaching job in the NFL. That being said, I don't think the former is even close to possible as his resume is atrocious (between his teams collective defensive stats) and I'm not sure he would find a position coaching a unit in the NFL (where his numbers won't matter so much).

Only time will tell what happens. If he does find another gig it will be pretty cool to feel the new energy in this place and around the program due to a new hope considering we now 100% have the players and talent to have a great defense. **** a good defensive coordinator would have found a way to make this personnel group flourish between AQM, Porter, McCord, DP, Kirby, Howard, Bush (full health I suppose), Jenkins, and even Gaines, Chick, and a couple other guys. With a different scheme I really believe we had the talent to have a very solid defense. Just a matter of Coach D trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.
