Adrian Killins article

Are we taking him as a WR? 5'8 165lbs is smaller than Corn was when we brought him in and we moved him to CB

Well the kid is hellah strong for a 170lbs all purpose running back. He squats 500lbs. I saw Mainland HS vs Dr Phillips on TV Friday night and those 3 kids are the truth as they say. Polite whoopped the 2017 kid playing Offensive tackle for Dr. Phillips allll night, keep in mind that Left tackle is rated by a few sites as the #1 player for the class of 2017. As Killings, he was a killer in the 4th quarter and put the axe into Dr Phillips with his final TD run.

Varsity Rewind: Close finishes separate Super 16 teams - Orlando Sentinel

......Bucs make statement
A rare trip to Orlando for No. 1 Mainland put the area on notice as the Buccaneers (5-0) derailed No. 6 Dr. Phillips (2-3) 28-7.

A 42-yard touchdown run by Adrian Killins and a 57-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown by Jachai Polite put the game out of reach in the second half. Dr. Phillips turned the ball over three times on fumbles. Mainland was intercepted twice.

“They’ve got D-I athletes just like us all over the field,” said Killins. “It’s great having a game like this to prepare us for what we’ll see further in the season and in the playoffs.”......

No. 1 Mainland hold No. 6 Dr. Phillips to 119 yards of offense

The first-ever meeting between two of the top teams in Central Florida wasn't packed with the offensive fireworks that many expected.

But when Daytona Beach Mainland needed a spark to finish off Dr. Phillips, running back Adrian Killins delivered.

Killins broke loose for a sparkling 42-yard run with eight minutes to play to secure a 28-7 win over the Panthers.

Mainland (5-0), the No. 1 team in the Sentinel Super 16, held No. 6 Dr. Phillips (2-3) to 119 total yards and three turnovers and won despite committing 14 penalties for 149 yards.

"I felt like we were hurting ourselves with penalties too much, but then there was that run by Adrian Killins where he was just going to finish it for us," Mainland coach Scott Wilson said.

"But the story really goes to our defense that played Mainland defense tonight. If we keep playing football on defense like that, we're going to win some football games."

Killins' touchdown put the Bucs in front 21-7. Jachai Polite followed that up by taking the fifth errant snap of the night for the Panthers back 57 yards for a score.

"This is the best offensive line I've ever played a part of," Killins said. "They've been working hard all week. We were pounding and pounding the ball all night and I just told them to give me a crease, and I took it from there and got the touchdown for them."

Killins finished with 108 yards rushing on 22 carries, 87 of which came in the second half.

Mainland jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the second quarter.

It was a 25-yard pass from Denzel Houston to Randy Baker that put Mainland in position to strike first in the opening period.

The Bucs pushed the ball down to the 1-yard line several plays later and scored with three minutes left in the first when Chris Davis scooped up a fumble at the goal line by teammate Kevin McCrary.

Houston got Mainland down to the 1-yard line again two drives later with a run of 10 yards, setting up a touchdown plunge by freshman Demaurez Bellamy.

The Panthers responded with a 51-yard drive to chip at the deficit as Marvin Washington ran to his left for a 6-yard touchdown. But Mainland's stout defense was overwhelming the remainder of the way.

The Bucs travel to Deltona on Friday. Dr. Phillips plays its first district game at Oak Ridge.

Killins has committed to UCF. Let's go get Fils-Aime.

Both he and Fils-Aime are flippable if we get after them, in my opinion. Having Byrd helps with the latter, and Killins is probably just not feeling the love.

Not sure if Richt will prioritize Killins though, with Dez Phillips and Sam Bruce already on board. Probably not going to fill his first class with little guys.
