Adios Rosier

Is not a love affair; he is who he is. But, you have to acknowledge that an obviously more talented Perry looks just as bad and Jarren can’t even see the field. Malik was the best QB Miami had even if Perry was the better passer (22%) last two games.

What I don’t understand is ****ting on the man when the blame needs to be directed at Richt.

I agree. ****ting on Rosier is like *****in about the short comings of someone with a disability. He is who he is.

He had limited skills and capabilities. He probably couldn't have played for any other FBS schools BUT despite his limitations and all of us who doubted him, Rosier led us to our 1st Coastal title and a season that exceeded all of our expectations before the season started. Anyone who says that they knew we'd do that well with him at the helm is most likely lying. I for one will always be grateful for his total effort that year.

He, without a doubt, needed to be replaced as our #1 Quarterback we all knew that because his many flaws and limitations were obvious. It was only a matter of time. We can all knock him for the results he delivered because of his limitations.

But we must also give him our gratitude for that surprising year when he quieted all of his doubters , gave his all and exceeded our expectations.

Kid did the best he could with legitimately the worst offensive coordinator in the country. He was also tough as **** which definitely isn't a teamwide trait. Hope he succeeds in whatever he does next.

The kid had no business playing QB at an FBS school.

That being said, I’m not going to bash him any further.

What’s done is done.

Best of luck to him in the future.

Your punk *** did not say that when he was beating Notre Dame. Your punk *** didn't say that when he beat Florida State in Tallahassee.

Rosier will always be a trivia question of who was the 1st UM QB to win an ACC Coastal title.
.
Marinade on that 10-20 years from now.

I’m not sure what this is supposed to mean.

Are you saying Malik had a comparable career to Jacory?

No, I'm saying other QB's that are considered bad who also beat FSU don't seem to receive the same love as Rosier.

Jacory's nickname on here is "Jacpicky", multiple people have said that because Rosier beat FSU that he'll always be in good standing as to how they remember him, I can guarantee you those same people if asked would tell you how bad Jacory was.

So the point is, everyone is wishing Rosier well after he just played arguably his worst game of his career & seemingly making excuses by saying he was what he was, but won't extend the same kind of reasoning for other QB's who were similarly bad. I'm confused by that.

This is where me and the Rosier guys quickly go onto different paths. I believe this is what @Liberty City El is alluding to.

When "he" was beating ND lol. Let me guess, "he" ravaged VTech also.

Gotcha.

Jacory is 10x the QB that Rosier was.

His senior year was probably the best overall year for a QB post Dorsey.

That's exactly what I'm talking about, it's that "he gave it his all" type waxing poetic I don't get.

Kaaya is the All-time leader in Passing yards & 2nd all-time in Passing TD's, is he as revered on here as other QB's? I mean he had better seasons statistically than actual Cane legends like Testaverde, Walsh, Torretta, & Kelly etc, does anybody talk about Kaaya in such glowing terms as Rosier lol?

I couldn't agree more. I think Kaaya is the perfect example to use. Kaaya is five times the QB Rosier could ever dream of being but for some reason Kaaya is clowned on this board all the time with no push back. If you speak bad on Rosier, posters come out of the woodwork acting extremely offended by it. It's mind-boggling to me.

I'm very very far from being a Rosier guy! Never felt he had the attributes or skills necessary to be a quarterback at this level.

That being said, I'm not going to ignore reality. He was what he was...but he also did what he did....it doesn't matter to me how we win ..ONLY THAT WE WIN.

For one year we won ugly with Rosier. And while I and many others couldn't wait for him to be replaced , I can't realistically ignore what he did for us that one year despite how little I thought of his skills.

Rosier's legacy should have been that of a program caretaker who won ten games as a junior while beating the big 3 (FSU, Va Tech and Notre Dame). He should have been remembered for the 2017 season. Instead he had his legacy tainted by a coach who is past his time and refuses to see it.

Best of luck to him in life.

Look, is Rosier a quality D1P5 QB?

No.

Does he appear to be an evil young man?

No.

Good luck Malik in all future endeavors. I will say this, it takes a certain amount of courage/stupidity/stubborness to know you don't measure up and to then go show how badly on Nat'l TV.

Thank him for the time and wish him well.

Maleek Rosier played with Heart for a coach who told him he'd never start for him. That means HE over achieved while the coach who told him UNDERACHIEVED by not developing him, or putting him in a better situation based on his talents. Or for that matter not having anyone else that was squared up enough to even make it on the **** field. So blame the others who hid in the QB room and didn't have the balls to do what was needed to even smell the field.

I'll remember Rosier pumping the crowd up before winning the FSU game; throwing the TD to Berrios that allowed him to flip up the U; running for important 1st down after important first down; beating Notre Dame; winning 10 games; and claiming the Coastal Division for the first time.

Let's see those and the Defense are pretty much the biggest highlights for the program in the Richt era. So that is what I'll remember from these three years, because the rest isn't worth remembering. Thanks Maleek.

The phrase "don't beat a dead horse" applies to Mr. Rosier. He was way over his head but Richt saw it differently... the $4M man who can't vet talent worth a fvck and in essence made Rosier look the failure that he became. It was Richt's failure along with the most pathetic offense that I've seen at the U. God bless Rosier that last year the most important game we played he was on target and ND looked like the crap they are.
I also wish Malik all the best in whatever he does... but it won't be playing on Sundays.
