ADIDAS VS NIKE

Whatever the quarrel with Adidas, they bailed us out from all the years of Nike's trash uniforms.

Our uniforms stopped looking like the U shortly after Nike took over. And we stopped playing like the U. The two are connected. When our look became indistinguishable from Florida A&M or Pompano Ely HS, our program took a dive. We lost our identity.

We went into decline playing in the Nike uniforms. We didn't look like the U. Now we're now coming back playing in our classic dynasty era uniforms from Adidas. And we're starting to look like the U again on the field as well.

Not only did our uniform graphic design become completely detached from our brand when Nike took over, so did the colors. SoFl is about tropical and vivid colors. SoFl is not Soylent green and rustbelt orange, which is what Nike came up with for some inexplicable reason.

Adidas year one uniforms were a miss. But then they got it right. Whereas every single year of Nike uniforms was a miss once they moved away from our classic look early on. Nike never got it right.

I don't particularly care about Adidas. If folks want to pick apart Adidas, go for it. But to this fan at least, Nike failed us moreso than any apparel company in our history and should be at the bottom of any list to do our uniforms in the future. Nike got everything wrong and nothing right.
"Nike began signing coaches to individual deals in the early 1980s, which put their shoes on the feet of college football players. The first all-sports, exclusive apparel contract with a university was signed with the University of Miami in 1987." -Web AI

"1987 (First Exclusive All-Sports Deal): The University of Miami became the first school to sign an "all-sports contract" with a single brand, Nike. This allowed one brand to "own the school" across all athletic programs and was a groundbreaking moment in college sports marketing." -Web AI

"We are a Nike school." -Alonzo H.

Some of u dudes r worst than LBJ Stans. U do know this color combo was chosen by the players, don’t u? U’re trying to compare a color combo w an actual uniform. Lmao. It’s like clockwork w u dudes, just like LBJ beat a 73 win team therefore he’s the GOAT. Lmao

Not really. We'll make the difference in sales and I'd be curious to hear the thoughts of the new leadership on campus. Having an alumnus & CPA running the school makes the evaluation of potential deals and impact on brand visibility different. I'm sure whatever Nike doesn't give in up-front $$$ can be recouped on back-end.
This is true. I literally am refraining from buying a Toney jersey because of three stripe but if it was swoosh it would have been done by now.

The Nike Y2K uniforms are the best in CFB history.

Not even from a fan perspective. The aesthetics are perfect.

The pant side stripe connecting to the jersey side stripe, which was an extension of the front and back pin-striping coming together in the jersey sleeves.

Colored deep-V collar design beveled off of the pin stripe.

No other uniform ever since has been so comprehensively designed for any program at any level.

Yeah, he was 100% cooked on that take. They were an instant hit even w/o the chips & win streak. It’s a beautifully designed uni. They could’ve said some other 2000 unis, but not the Y2K joints. I know players from other programs that were like those were the dopest unis.

I saw this dude posting all this three stripe anti swoosh **** and I was going to @ you but it’s Christmas lol

how has Adidas not signed Malachi to a monster deal already and made him one of their CFB stars?

B/c Adidas is a front running brand. U saw how they quickly forgot about Ward after it became evident that Hunter would win Heisman. U saw how quickly they gave Mendoza a NIL deal once they saw he was the front runner for The Heisman.

This is what they do, & have done.
