ADIDAS VS NIKE

These were ugly. Sure.

But at least the orange is the correct shade and not the neon orange we currently have.
Yep, another simple area Adidas can’t get right.

Color tones, bad materials, high school name plates with weird thin font that warps, the font on the #1 inexplicably having a huge bottom compared to last year (why was this changed), uniforms that tear like paper, awful jersey and pants fit, diaper bottom pants, warped pant stripes.

.... Adidas is going to offer us a deal where they tangibly pay us more money, its pretty simple. You can talk about all broken promises but at the end of the day extra $ can outweigh that. And if the $ is in a whole different tier than what Nike is offering then it is what it is.

Not really. We'll make the difference in sales and I'd be curious to hear the thoughts of the new leadership on campus. Having a former alumnus & CPA running the school makes the evaluation of potential deals and impact on brand visibility different. I'm sure whatever Nike doesn't give in up-front $$$ can be recouped on back-end.

The solid jerseys were better. I liked these a lot. Great alternates.

First of all, most of the fanbase likes the 2000s look. Second, yes Nike obviously designed them and we were fine it with.

Third, Miami definitely failed to tell them F off. Given that, why do you keep blaming Nike and not Miami? Adidas literally did the same thing until we didn’t fail to finally tell them to F off.

Why did Adidas ever think the feathers were a good idea? What about the uniforms made of literal trash? Why did they ever think the baby **** green military uniforms were a good idea? Why did they ever think the strawberry jerseys were a good idea?

Both companies have come up with garbage designs. The difference is Nike is years ahead of them in their MATERIALS and CONSTRUCTION and FIT.

So, if we all agree that Miami has the power to dictate what designs it wants, then why would you continue to go with the company who literally uses Nike templates from the 2000s? This company couldn’t even get the U on the collar correct until a few years ago. The name plates are from high school.

I hope we stay with the classic forever. Like you, I think it’s the best and represents our brand the best. However, I think Nike is the better company and is more than capable of making us a classic jersey with the best materials and construction.

Miami was a joke of an athletic department for at least 2 decades, with the common trait that we blame everyone else for our problems…when we re-up with Adidas that will be a Miami apparel decision, just like we’ve made poor hiring, facility, apparel, commitment decisions, etc.

In the meantime, just win.

I hear a lot of you talking about look, but what about fit???

Relly has broke down how adidas is way behind Nike in material and cuts.

If I have to see Malachi pull up his pants again… I hate seeing everyone in baggy jerseys that absolutely can hinder performance.

If we go with Adidas, would love some contractual language that says we will absolutely get custom fits for ALL of our players.

Tell the Mas brothers that at least.

100%. The fit and materials are ridiculous and the fact that we don’t do the custom fit for every player like Nike does, in the year 2025, is a travesty.

Second-rate company that stays a decade behind the 8 Ball, kind of like how our athletic department used to function.

Could just do what the Baltimore Ravens do and hire an in-house seamstress to customize the fit for each player.

While we would all prefer Jordan Brand or at least Nike, if we are re-upping, we need the Mas Bro to leverage the Miami MLS/Messi/Beckham relationship for the Hurricanes, not be leveraged. Seems like a fair needle to thread for a bunch of high profile rich businessmen.

Beckham/Messi/Miami MLS/Miami Hurricanes/Adidas seems like a home run opportunity --- but we will pop up the bunt to the catcher and turn it into a triple play...

We were also told that Rad and Mario were so tight with Nike, and Phil Knight respectively, that this was never going to be an issue, so maybe that chess being played in the darkness will prevail for once.

All in all this is what Radtirement and Joe, etc should be working on while Mario and the team get ready to kick Ohio State's ******* ***.
