Nope. Not even close. At top winning programs the AD practically works for the celebrity football coach. The BOT and the budget are more important the AD to be honest.

And you can hire and fire an AD really easily. Buyouts are nominal, recruiting isn't affected. Getting the right football coach who WINS has such an outsized effect on revenue is dwarfs any reasonable variance with an AD's performance.

And Tony would NOT be a ****** AD. Not even close. Not a home run alpha like Jurich, but the difference is nominal when compared to Mario vs. who we would probably end up with as coach. ****, the donations and sales in the first month of Mario as coach would be enough to warrant it.

I love Mario but no way you hire a newby with no experience as AD here at UM. He can come in as an associate but that’s it.

Can’t make the same mistake that was made with the previous HC who had no experience. The 247 post summarizes JT well why you don’t take a guy with no experience. I am confident Mario would understand that.
