They want the other guy and that’s why everyone assumes it’s Jurich. But Tony had his supporters. The decision is made, we’ll see very soon.
The Mas brothers response if they don’t get their guy

Every one who writes something like you just wrote I truly feel has lost their minds. Mario is not some HR. Despite the beliefs of some on this board we will not be battling the LSU's and Florida's and USC's for his services. He is not the top candidate at any of those schools. Because they like rest of the country don't think much of beating up on the Pac-12. You would think a conference rival like USC would go all in but they know what a dominant Pac-12 squad looks like. Oregon aint it. He would be 3rd and 4th on all their list if that and yet he's 1, 2 and 3 on ours because Miami.

Falling all over ourselves for guy that doesn't have even a winning road record in conference. You take a breath and think about a guy who isn't even above .500 on the road in that terrible conference. 8-8 in 4 years in Pac-12 road games. I'm pretty sure you and others who have used the word entitled don't know the correct context of when to use it. You can't list all the bad coaches we've endured and call us entitled. Maybe we've learned to recognize flaws better than most and aren't swayed by winning games in the worst division in the Power 5.

And would you please stop writing "he loves Miami" like that means a **** thing. I don't care if the next coach wore Miami gear in black and white because he hates the school colors as long as he wins.

We disagree. That's ok. And "he loves Miami" is super f'ing relevant because if he didn't, and wasn't from UM, we wouldn't even be in the game with him. Which is why the most desired coaches would all go to LSU, and USC over us.

We are entitled because we think we are an attractive opportunity for top coaches. We don't accept who we are right now. Mario is about 9 feet higher than what we deserve or what we should get based on the marketplace today (whole opportunity package, not just salary).

Take the win.

Jimbo Fisher would disagree.

See, I think that kind of makes my point. The lost Jimbo because their AD was true headstrong. And look at them now. I think they'd trade their AD and the entire English department to get Jimbo back.

I am not trying to say AD doesn't matter. I am just saying that if you have a great, winning football coach who is loved in the community, 60% of the AD's job is already done to the best it can be because football keeps the fans happy and the money rolling in. EVERYTHING is affected by football. Other sports, freshmen applications... everything.

It's already been leaked that Lane is interested in the Miami job. Why is Mario's name not being mentioned for the USC, UF, or LSU jobs if he is so sought after and "9 feet higher than what we deserve?"

That was my point. A bad AD can ruin everything so we need to make sure we hire a good one.

If the Mas brothers want someone, they will get that one.

I cannot imagine them getting overruled. Their pull is as big as you can have it. @TheOriginalCane has said it as well, these guys get after it and want to win as bad as you can win something.

When reporters said that Miami wanted an aggressive AD, it was as if they wrote that for the reporters to publish. Anyone who follows the MLS and Inter Miami is aware of that.

The problem with UM is that the Miami culture has inflicted the program. And the Miami culture is “hire who you know and not the most qualified”.
Jurich is qualified. And Fat Tony’s is no where near as qualified but knows people. SMDH.

He hired two of the best coaches. Meyer and Billy D.
Yes, and Spurrier, too. Kevin O'Sullivan for baseball. They've won national titles in many sports. He also **** the bed with Mike White after Donovan. My point is every AD misses.
