There have been way more busts than successes off the Saban tree. It’s not like you are learning a specific system to implement elsewhere. You are learning how to build the program and infrastructure around it. Outside of Georgia and a couple of other schools (Texas, LSU, A&M), where can you actually execute that? Florida has tried the Saban tree twice and failed. Same with Tennessee. Both of those schools in theory are better suited to build programs like that than we are. I’m not saying to not hire someone that worked under Saban, but it is not on its own some guaranteed success.

What Kirby learned is what all coaches learn that coach under him…how to cheat and not get caught.

It takes a couple years to set up the system that’s why you see all these guys start recruiting better players the longer they’re at the school.

Kirby’s about what 4-5 years in now? UGA is gonna derail old Nicky’s dominance now watch.

Will be hard for Manny to draw a top guy so my guess would be that Likens gets OC. He's done a really good job with the WR's IMO. He currently has the title of WR/PGC here and has been an OC at 4-5 different schools including Arizona State and Cal in the Pac-10. They set some passing records at Cal with him. Scheme wouldn't change much. Hopefully less goal-line runs up the middle.

As someone that has a connect inside UGA athletics you are 100% correct on everything you just typed. UGA will steamroll Bama next Saturday.

Longer the time taken to announce a new AD, greater the chance that Manny might survive another year...
