Accountability now resides with Radakovich

And wins against ND, FSU, and UF. Just saying wait until the end of the season to write the epitaph. If they finish 10-2 again, are we really going to fire a guy going 10-2 in back to back seasons? With a $60M buyout to boot? And who are we going to get?
ND has played two teams with a pulse, and they lost both. FSU and UF, if I have to explain those to you, well.................

It's a what have you done for me lately business, like most others. If they finish 10-2, that would be back to back 10 win seasons and 12-4 in the ACC. Definitely needs to improve on the ACC record, but like you said, he's not going anywhere and even if he did, who are you bringing in?
I hear Tom Olivadotti is Mario’s first choice for his next OC

ND is in the playoff right now. FSU knocked off Alabama. Florida knocked off Texas. ****, if Beck didn't seem to enjoy throwing the ball to a guy in a different colored jersey on the last drive of games we wouldn't even be talking about this **** right now. Again, just saying, wait till the end of the season to see how this ends up.

Oh wait, I forgot where I was. Commence with the purge. Tear it all down. Burn it up.

the reason why the passes were picked is bc teams read our tendencies.

Glad to see you're on CIS, Carson. Welcome aboard.

Silly me, I thought they were picked because you chose to throw them to the opposing player in the path of the ball. And if they had "read our tendencies", you should have recognized said opponent in the potential path of the ball and thrown the ball away. Seems not too much to ask of a guy making $4M a year, but I'm just a lowly caveman.

Urban said so...gotta be better than Rad
You’d be surprised.

The UAA has rendered him pretty useless. His main job is just the stadium rebuild. So, similar to Rad, he deals pretty much only with press conferences and real estate. But at least he lives in Florida!

Edit: And I can’t even count on one hand the number of abuse scandals Stricklin has had under his watch. He is extremely lucky UF has been dealing with their mess of a presidential search and it bought him time.

Well.

Definitely take anything Urban says with shot glass full of salt. But he makes a point about having an AD in place. After dealing with Blake James and now Rad, I wish UM had a good AD in place. What coach wants to answer to a BOT in which most of the members don't know football, unless, of course, your buddies are on the BOT. :snoopfacepalm:

Rad came after Mario was hired. Mario doesn’t answer to him. He answers to his donors and knowing Mario there isn’t any answering. “He’s working, no sugar coating, taking it head on”

I absolutely agree that Rad is an issue, and I have been very vocal on this board about that issue for a long time, particularly in the Conference Realignment thread. I do not understand why Joe hasn’t dealt with this yet.

UF has a similar problem though, which is why it took so long to get Billy fired. The power resides with the UAA (University Athletic Association), not with the AD, which is a separate nonprofit organization headed up by a board of old cronies. Their AD is just a figurehead, and the alumni have been wanting him gone for years.

But it’s quite telling when you look at the schools (UM and UF are not the only ones) that are a few years behind the times in that they think that CFB is still an arms race and facilities are the key to recruiting/winning.

The ball is not in the AD's court, it's in the big money boosters that are funding NIL and investments into the school and the football program. Rad can talk but talk is cheap. Money on the other hand makes things happen.
Correct!! Rad did not hire Mario - the $$ boosters and the current pres did.

NIL is the driver now, and hopefully the BOT recognizes this, so, if/when Mario is gone the money still flows. But the next AD hire has to be a homerun. Crazy how the Dolphins and Canes have similar organizational issues.

For many reasons, not the least of which is the $60M buyout, firing Mario is not possible and would be idiotic even if it were. So, assuming Radakovich isn't blind and dumb, his only option is to "coach up" his head coach, who has exceptional qualities but is clearly struggling. The path is not easy. The first tough step is getting Mario to recognize that his offensive philosophy is outdated, that it must change, and that he himself can not change it. The second tough step is helping Mario bring in a new, high-IQ, innovative OC. UM should spare no expense with this hire, and give him whatever resources are needed to succeed (a QB position coach, for example). Here's the hard part...DR must insist that Mario provide the new OC with complete autonomy and accountability. That includes play calling, player evaluations, and authority over all offensive position coaches include Mirabal.

In addition, DR and MC must develop a QB acquisition strategy that involves more than one-year rentals. I do not believe the current approach is sustainable, especially with a more complex offense that requires time for players to assimilate and refine. UM needs QBs that develop over more than one year.

Finally, DR should go on a full court press with the ACC on the outrageous officiating. The examples are too many to count, and it has been persistent over several recent years. Totally, unacceptable. UM has power with the ACC and should assert it.
They hire the head coach before the A.D. so that should tell you all you need to know

Head coaches report to an AD, unless like Stanford football, there is a GM in the middle. If a coach is hired or fired, it is the AD's responsibility, albeit highly influenced by many other parties (boosters, president, etc). It's therefore part of the AD's job to help his head coaches succeed, to "coach them up". In the case of Mario, that may be providing him with an infrastructure of support, encouraging advisors (like Saban, JJ, Butch, whomever). And since Mario is a CEO-type, not an Xs and Os guy, IMO, Rad should be encouraging Mario to bring in a killer OC and provide complete autonomy.
