There's really no way to define any of those teams, including the Canes, as being "elite" at this point based on early-season schedules. The term is thrown around too loosely trying to elicit reactions.

Elite OLs earn that term by delivering their team deep into the playoffs against playoff defenses. Canes have been pretty darn good so far against some decent defenses—but UF was missing some starters. They started strong then kind of looked average in parts of the 2nd and 3rd quarter before taking over again in the 4th.
 
This is what happens when lazy writers use statistics without taking into account who they played. He also writes some garbage from spots information office press releases to justify each rank.

True, but there's enough evidence from the four games, plus who we have coming back, plus Mario and Alex always have good OLs. We're definitely a top 10 OL and arguably top 5.

DL, on the other hand, there's little argument that we're not #1.

unfortunately, I think I can remember that we couldn't run the ball 2nd&3rd quarter against ND and UiF.
 
This is outrageous! I will insult him as if he attacked my family with physical violence! I will certainly remember his name as soon as I hit Post Reply! All of this will have tremendous influence on his life and mitigate his success from this day forward!
