According to Paul Finebaum, Miami is a, “Third world program.”

lebatard cant make an outrage anymore even if feels differently on this stuff (we know he does). espn has him on good behavior

When did he say that the apology was too serious?

The next day Le Batard, a Cuban-American and longtime Miami resident, demanded an explanation for the comment he called “coded dogwhistle language"

“So what did you mean by third-world program Paul? Can you clarify that for us please?” he asked over the airways. “We are not in the business of demanding apologies. We are unlikely to demand an apology unless your clarification does not suit us.”

Yesterday on the LeBatard show...........

"We found ourself in the middle of something with Paul Finebaum here yesterday, that we were treating you know, as a little bit of a joke.... we didn't demand an apology, we demanded a clairification, because it's a ridiculous thing to demand (chuckling) in a vigorous tone."........................."I talked to him this morning, and he's genuinely remorseful, too remorseful, I feel like, because I'm not the angry mob guy." "He fell on the sword, I think way too hard."

But you are assuming here that maybe Finebaum meant "3rd World" to describe our fan base as "a bunch of idiots who act like fools".

The problem with your assumption is that most of his show is SEC fans calling in complaining about what other SEC fans did.

- An LSU fan called in to the show and asked him about an Alabama fan putting his ******* on an passed out LSU fan and Finebaum's response was that Louisiana was a bad place to do something like that because of the legal system.

- An Auburn fan called in and complained about an Alabama fan poisoning the sacred campus tress. Finebaum shrugged. The actual guy who poisoned the trees called in and Finebaum spoke to him

- An Auburn fan called in about an Alabama fan who shot and killed an Auburn fan after Alabama lost the Iron Bowl

- A Georgia fan called in after a Florida fan punched his Georgia fan wife in the face after they lost. Finebaum did not flinch

- An Ole Miss fan called in after an Ole Miss student's jaw was broken from a sucker punch by an Alabama fan during a tailgate. Finebaum said "That's life in the SEC"

Those are 4 examples of at least 4,000. These call comprise a part of every show that he does.

And not once has he criticized a fan base, a city, or footprint of this country. But an alleged Miami fan pushed a band member for grabbing a female gets a response that "Miami is 3rd World?" That is in no way consistent with anything he has ever said. It's a weak assumption to make.

wow yeah i didnt know any of that. you are right though in your 1st statement of that post. people are just so quick to throw it out there.

you may be 100% correct in saying there were racial undertones. the guy is an ignorant pencil necked *******, so... lets just role with that. but based on all those examples u laid out, yikes that is eye opening

Couldn’t agree more.

Billy Corben is another one. Has a long time grudge against the school because they wouldn’t let him use the U logo in his movie. Every time you see or hear of him criticizing the school, remember, it all goes back to that.

He is still buttsore about it. By the way, the school had no choice, they couldn’t put their logo on a movie in with the things that were discussed.

problem w/ LeBatard is that he was recently reprimanded himself for saying stupid stuff so he is in an awkward position to be calling someone else out for saying stupid stuff. ESPN should just require them both to wear dunce hats for an entire segment of their shows.
