According to Paul Finebaum, Miami is a, “Third world program.”

And then he proceeded to shallow Nick Saban’s kids right afterwards.

Putting his statement in the form of an argument (which is what his job is), this is what you get:

{A Florida band member claims he was assaulted by a Miami fan after the band member grabbed a female, therefore Miami is a third world program}

Textbook ad hominem, and you cannot assume (football) program, because football program is irrelevant to the fan. You have to assume relevance because Finebaum is a professional paid by the ESPN network to make arguments. Therefore, one can assume relevance, and assume he means the city of Miami.

An ad hominem argument, by definition, is based on "feelings of prejudice." That is exactly what he presents us with. It's on him to defend himself, and he did not.

Yeap, they have rebuilt the system we destroyed. They live in fear that we will grab that brass ring and do it again. We surprised them the first time. Nobody understood what Howard doing and underestimated what his resume meant. JJ took the tool Howard created, forged it into a weapon and crushed their little heads. Butch showed it can be done again so they redoubled their efforts.

I believe 2017 showed how we can flip a switch and BAM! we are the electric comes back. Had we beat Pitt and WI that year the recruiting would had held up better. We did that with not good enough staff and overachieving QB. I doubt that Manny is another Howard but he might not need to be. Jarren did remind me a little of Bernie with a smoother throwing motion(I might be guilty of rose colored glasses here). IF we ever touch the ring again, the image of being one of those old Canes in top recruits minds will at the very less drive the size of the bags needed to balance the scale through the roof. We keep a few each year we currently lose and if cold be all we need.
 
In 2015 both sides of the political aisle came to an agreement that ALL arguments concluding a place in this country was "third world" would be defined as racist. Not exactly logical, but if both sides agree, we can conclude that there is an agreement.

However, his argument was not ad hominem, as he provided data and made points to draw his conclusion. But he was still labelled a "racist", simply for using the term "third world" to describe a city in our country

Defining racism as a representation of race the creates structures of domination based on categories of race is the simplest and most universally accepted definition of the term. Therefore, by calling a city, or even a fan base, that is populated by minority races "third world" with ZERO data or reasoning, you are simply defining racism in its most pure, simplistic, and globally accepted form.

Therefore, labeling an ad hominem attack that calls a city that is populated by minorities "third world" as 'racist', is not only logical by definition, but also consistent with the opinions of both sides of the political aisle in our country

Want to be committed to the cause? Quit altogether--no one is forcing them to play. What is driving them to play is $$$ and their ego to scream, "look at me, look at me!" Stop using US dollars to live their lives (because by doing so they are FUNDING the rasicism they purport to protest against).

I think that's the point. It is NOT obvious. But it is 100% his responsibility to make it obvious. If he does not want assumptions to be made to make his illogical statement logical, he has to provide the rhetoric.

This wasn't a statement made regarding facilities or funding. This was a statement made based on perceived behavior of our fan base. His response is, "Its not surprising, it's Miami, they're a third-world program." When you're talking about the fans specifically, and you throw the words "third-world" around when the MAJORITY of Miami fans are not white... that's dangerous territory if you DON'T mean it the way it comes off.

I'm the last person to throw around the word racist or racism, but like I said previously, the UNDERTONES are definitely there, whether he meant them or not, thanks to the context of the conversation.
