and we run one of the slowest pace offenses in college football. We ran 66.2 offensive plays per game, 120th out of 128th.

2011: 64.5 (120th)
2012: 70.1 (82nd)
2013: 64 (123rd)
2014: 66.2 (120th)

We have a talent advantage so our coaches try to shorten the game because they want to protect our ****** defensive scheme. It really is mind blowing how inept Golden really is.

Our recruiting base is stacked with explosive offensive and defensive players. So what do we do:

1. Run our offense at an extremely slow pace to shorten the game.
2. Run a "safe" defense and never put pressure on opposing offenses.

All this with a more talented roster then every team we play except 1, FSU. I get ****ed off every time I think about our scheme and philosophy. If I didn't love the U, I'd laugh.

Please get that fat ******* Golden out of my face now.

You'd almost think that Al Golden was a mole who was sent here to sabotage our program.

Everything he does would suggest that but I just think he's that stupid and thinks this is the Big 10.

Mind blowing decisions on how to play.

Yeah ... Lost in the D stats is that we were purposely slow on offense.

That 15th ranked D is "smoke and mirrors" ...

Well, for as inept as the D is, the offensive play calling is just that offensive! I have grown to hate everything about this staff. From garbage play calling, to the stupid *** hurry up and look to the sidelines just to then check to a run into the blitz. This whole staff, with the exception of the local coaches who would help keep recruiting together, needs to be GUTTED! Yester****inday

I'm not giving Coley a complete pass but the way we run our offense now isn't Coley's background. Our offense has Golden's fingerprints all over it.

......and remember the "check with me" crap would probably account for at least a dozen plays. Oh, and the time clock running out for a delay of game penalty after a timeout in ...every... game... this... season!

I'm gonna go throw up now! I did it to myself again.

This is absolutely by design. Golden will point to where our defense has improved as far as yards/points allowed per game, more consistency, blah blah blah. Meanwhile, as with just about anything, you need CONTEXT to draw a VALID and RELIABLE CONCLUSION. In order to protect HIS defense he employs a slow paced offense, devoid of any hurry up or tempo. It limits possessions, which in turn puts pressure on your offense to succeed. (One could argue, correctly, that more plays puts pressure on your defense.) So in essence you would like to see some sort of balance IMO. Unfortunately, Fat Al knows his defense is awful and has chosen to protect it by any means necessary. This means slowing down our offensive tempo to a halt, playing zone and forcing other teams to put together longer drives. So what results in theory is lower scoring games.

Essentially this fat slob has done everything in his power to manipulate the 'process' so as to protect himself as much as possible, in SPITE of doing what is best for the TEAM.

He is a selfish, fat, egotistical, self-centered, piece of TRASH. I wish guys on this team would stand up once and for all, as a team, and voice their opinions. There have been several instances over the last year and a half of this, albeit glimpses either on Twitter or the sidelines. It's time for them to do what's best for THEM. People say they read posts on CIS? I IMPLORE the team to be selfish. Golden, with each additional day he is coach, sets you back further as a player AND as a person. For some of you he is costing you money. Others, simply the joy of being a football player at one of the most symbolic programs in college football history. STAND UP. SPEAK UP. Grambling pulled it off...

Golden stated during the off season that he told Coley to slow down offense. It was during the interview when kept throwing him under the bus for our ****** defense. They scored too fast.

Pretty much.

On top of that it has hurt recruiting. People don't want to play in this defense.

Golden has killed the program 10x more then any cloud.

LULZ at blaming Coley for Folden's decision to take the air out the ball. OP is dead on.

Folden's fear is what makes him the maggot he is. Could you imagine what a guy like Chip Kelly or Rich Rod would do at UM with the speed and skill talent 5 minutes from Hecht? We wouldn't be standing around waiting till there's 3 seconds left on the play clock every down.

The style and approach to offense that Folden has adopted here is the definition of retarded.

Fat Al was trying to manipulate defensive stats so someone would hire him...no one is that obtuse unfortunately

I have thought the same thing. It is rediculous to think that way. It is hard to believe somebody could be that stupid without trying to be. But apperently the Al really is that stupid.

This is why I wanted Malzahn in 2011. Not only do we have the recruiting base to be lethal on the hurry-up offense, but on defense we'd have the depth to rotate players in and out unlike Texas A&M/Auburn who get in shootouts constantly.

Conman Al does not want us to run a face pace offense because it would expose his bff's defense

Just like the higher ratings were inflated when we ran a fast O under Fisch. It goes both ways. There's no way we're a top 15 D this year. Sure, there were SOME improvements, but darn sure nothing earth shattering. Like you say, the slow O helped the D stats, but it didn't make the D good, just better on paper. When it mattered, we caved.
Yeah ... Lost in the D stats is that we were purposely slow on offense.

Yup. See the 2012 season.

Problem is that we are no longer getting that "stack" of explosive offensive and defensive players.

Golden has done a crappy job recruiting(and developing); you are overrating our talent.

Our talent is no better than the other **** poor ACC Coastal teams. (don't bring up the recruiting rankings which have lately been inflated by sheer numbers - average star rating is not that high. In addition a lot of the top talent never made it in or soon made their way out)
