Make Tusculum great again. Once proud baseball program bottom dwelling.

Seriously though, don’t think JD could even pull it off at a place like that.
Yeah Tusculum is definitely not looking at a spot considering I was watching this game alongside their best hitter on the year lmao

No you are right...you have to find talented kids and then develop them.

I know a kid who went there who was very good...but got there and ended up an all american back around 2012 when they were really good.

Yup, Tusculum was a very good school. They still develop some good kids tbh

They were pretty local to me and we played them many times when I transferred down to D2. Had several friends go there.

Probably had the best hitter I ever saw in D2, rivaled only by some guys at North Greenville, Mount Olive, and Erskine, and definitely the best pitcher, by far, then probably 1 more in the top 3-4 I saw at the D2 level.

What is it with these UM programs ? Football loses 3/4 to finish the season flat, basketball went from final 4 to single digit wins in 2 years and baseball just finished the season losing 6/7

Luckily Football/basketball seem to be on the up and come up but baseball is dead in the water right now with JD

Football seems to be on the up? Not really….Mario is still head coach and like you said they lost 3/4 to finish the season and their schedule is tougher this year. I’d be more excited for basketball before football right now.

Torres had to be the pitcher. Who was the hitter?

Post fiasco. Should be in, but we’re at the mercy of other teams as to whether it goes up or down by Monday. Not a huge gap between us and either 31st or 44th.
Really indifferent at this point (or leaning actually to a mercy "leave us out"), since it's seems like a regional will simply be more humilation.

But "fed up" is the overwhelming sentiment right now.

What’s scary is that the name they were looking at to replace JD before the hot streak might be the worst name I’ve ever heard be thrown around a baseball program
Impossible!

JD was the single worst candidate possible to take over the program. He was the one constant in the program overseeing the downfall of the Canes over the last two decades.

If it’s someone from the outside who hasn’t been apart of this program, it’s instantly better; credentials be damned.

Don’t deserve to make field of 64. No signature series wins to really fall back on. You don’t lose to last seed.

But we will get in as a 3 seed. May win a couple games to solidify JD.

Torres is correct lol that kid had no business at Tusculum. They also had the Devan Watts kid that got drafted. He threw mid-90s but he was 5'10-5'11 and apparently had spin rates in the 99th percentile on his FB and 12-6 BB. With him being short and that spin it looked like it was 100+ and ran in on you.

The hitter was Kevin Victoriano. Don't think he had the greatest batting average on the full season but he hit bombs and tore it up against us every time. He mashed. Little 5'9 180 pound kid hitting tanks over our batters eye. Ended up landing in the softball field during their game. I remember looking it up and google earth said it was like 480 ft.
