ACC team of the week accolades to Delaney and McDermott

Pretty sure they grade every play, and you either get a 1 or a 0. there is no "4" for a great play or a -7 for a really crappy play. That is why it's not just "player of the week" with the best stats. It's more consistency thing. That's how a lot of coaches grade players too. Not arguing for its merits, just passing along the info.

They grade the plays on a scale of -2 to +2. A -2 is a truly despicable play and vice versa for +2. What they do is good work. It's also subject to change, as it is performed by unpaid interns the first go through and then reviewed by analysts for accuracy. Then they scale the grades onto a scale of 100. Otherwise it would look like a part-time player who balled out for 15 plays had a similar grade to a starter who was terrible and got like a 30 grade.

I'm 3/4 of the way through the game and I'd say they're being pretty kind to Delaney. McDermott had one really bad whiff, which was probably a -2, but he played well. The OL who really struggled were Navaughn Donaldson and Trevor Darling. Donaldson was higher up and lower down than Darling. Darling's good is average and Donaldson's good is elite, though.

Nice. Thanks for the correction.
