And the answer is: Beat the snot out of teams like we've done... and like we used to do... and then it doesn't matter.

Still love the UT Cotton Bowl. Like a 1000 yards in penalties and we still slaughtered them. I could have sworn Denis mouthed "Fu.. you, we'll beat the crap out of them anyway" after one call.

That game was epic. Co-worker is a big Texas fans and we talked about that game the one day. Hilarious. I just remember the announcer (can't think of his name) saying how much of a dis-grace we were and how it wasn't football and how he wouldn't vote us for #1 although we were, at the end of the year, playing better than anyone else. Heck, remember all the smack talk Texas did the week leading up to the game? The one 'sign' "We mess with Texas". Good times.

Wasn't that Francesa?

The people that cant see that Redwine clearly PI him are the guys that you just can't trust their thoughts. The dude all game was hnads all over wrs. We need Colbert back asap and Redwine needs some more confidence.

Besides that, I can't stand that head ref. That whole team of refs are horrible!

No, Jim Natz.

For those young 'Canes fans. You want to see domination, the 1991 Cotton Bowl was a thing of beauty.

Officiating in every conference is bad man,,,,nobody is out to get Miami.

You must be new to football...

That's the typical post from a guy who doesn't watch any games outside of whatever one Miami is playing. Refs make bad calls every Saturday, in big numbers, in every conference across the board. So after the bad PI call against Duke did the refs decide to do a 180 and now assist the Canes by swallowing their whistles?

I suggest you watch other games and see for yourself instead of listening to the hysteria on this board that seems to appear daily.

We also got a terrible spot on 3rd down on the drive in the 2nd Quarter that was our first 3 and out of the game. Walton was clearly over the first down marker but somehow they said he was half a yard short. Ron Cherry is the clown prince of NCAA referees.

I went to my first 'Canes game in 1981 or '82. I've been watching college football ever since.

Because of family connections, I watch every Auburn, Georgia, and Michigan State game (so long as it doesn't conflict with a 'Canes game). I live in LA, so I see a lot of USC and UCLA out here (and a fair bit of Stanford). My three closest friends get me to watch a lot of Arizona, UNC, and Colorado. And that doesn't even note all the other games I watch, usually big ones.

Oh, I was also a radio color commentator for an FCS team many years ago.

Point is: I've seen a lot of football, especially college football, over the last 35+ years. I watch enough that I can, despite my allegiances, state objectively that the treatment received by Miami from officials is like nothing else I have ever seen. Yes, all teams get bad calls. Georgia actually gets way more calls against them than they deserve. But no one touches Miami in this regard.

And bad officiating has cost Miami multiple championships: 1988 and 2002 (and there was the computer BS that cost us 2000 which was subsequently "fixed" the following year, but that's another story).

Wonder why they called him "Jim" then? I pulled up the game on youtube to verify. Very odd. Doesn't know his own name? Then again, for what he said, doesn't surprise me.

And he was just going to let his opinion known, like a crybaby.

My favorite road game of all time.
It was one one the loudest stadiums I was ever in...during pre-game.

Took a long time for UT to recover from that destruction and recovery did not last long. The Southwest Conference did not last much loner. There were other reasons, but Miami laying waste to the Big 8 and Southwest Conference surely helped with their destruction. We won games, embarrassed fan bases, crushed programs and mortally wounded conferences -- oh and kicked the living crap out of teams. It has been great being a Miami Hurricane. I am old but I am hoping for one more great ride with Mark and getting to see the mighty SEC taken down a couple notches.
