ACC Network Money

It’s business, not personal. The ACC wants Notre Dame playing its teams half the year, wants it in the conference otherwise, and is paying in part to try to be in position to swallow ND as a full member down the road.

The ACC is most definitely swallowing ND.

Take the emotion out of and think rationally. This is about dollars and sense. They play 5 ACC opponents per year.

ND will drive massive ratings on the ACC network, even when they play wake forest. ND brings waaaaay more to the overall pot than say, Wake Forest or BC. When ND plays Miami, Clemson or FSU those games are major nationally televised events.

ND absolutely deserves a full cut.

So if they ever wanted to be all-in, what would we have to pay them? Would you be cool with them getting 2x as much as Miami?

No one cares about Wake, BC or Pitt on Raycom, JP or ACCN for Football. ND is one of college football's biggest brands. Yeah it helps having them but I would like them to fully join

But guess what happened when the B1G and the Big XII said that ND had to join as full members? The talks broke down. Think about it, why would ND join the ACC if they had a similar offer from the B1G on the table? They are the epitome of a B1G conference school, they have built in rivalries with Purdue, Michigan and Michigan State, plus they would save a ton of money on travel for their non revenue sports. Why would they take the ACC deal, if they had anything better at the time? Answer is they wouldn't.
Yes because nd wasn't going to give up it's private cash cow with NBC.acc was only conference that worked with nd over that.reason nd plays 5 games against an acc opponent .

Exactly. Why would any well run conference put up with that arrangement? The ACC is poorly managed, and I'd love for Miami to have somewhere else to go, but that isn't in the cards. ND should have been told to kick rocks, because for the most part, ND is using the conference to pad their schedule. Here's an idea, either be all in, or go ask the American Conference for games. The ACC isn't really making that much off of ND, when you look at it. Yes, every once in awhile, there's a Miami/ND game, but Miami and ND were going to link up regardless. That's what people forgot about, Miami and ND had an agreement before the last round of realignment.

Canedude ......good points. ND is using the ACC, as , much as the ACC is using ND.......now the question is who brings more to the party in order to divvy up the take and figure out the percentage....that is the question?...IMO they get 20-25% of the regular cut. They use ACC teams to build their record, but the ACC does not receive any of the NBC cut.....why should the ACC cut them in for Sports other than football which produces less revenue?.
Negotiate and fall within the 20-25 % range would be reasonable.

I laugh at guys working a 9-5 debating whether billion dollar corporations and government schools have negotiated a fair deal.

You know where this wouldn't happen? The SEC. Say what you want, but they wouldn't allow this type of circus BS to happen in their conference.

You aren’t thinking rationally, man. It’s a non-zero-sum game. Everybody eats much, much, MUCH more with ND in the pot.
