ACC Commissioner States The Obvious....Followed By Nonsense

The presidents made the decision as to how far we can go with the playoff, and the bookends are exams in December, and the presidents don’t want football to become a two semester sport. Those concerns are education-based.

Yeah, because having the conf winners get an auto bid and then only having to debate how many $EC teams get one of the 3 at-large bids would be INSANE! Instead we all have to pretend like the little committee is doing anything but debating if the two $EC teams will play each other in the Playoff (thus guaranteeing one in the champ game) or if we should roll the dice and slot them against the two charity spots given to the non-$EC teams. The argument that if we go to 8 then we'll go to 16 is a strawman. Then you actually could make the case that you're dragging out the season too long and devaluing the regular season games. Plus, ain't nobody going to give great credence to a 9th place team crying in the same manner that they'll should give to potentially two conferences being shut out now. Like I said, let the little committee sit there and debate spots 6, 7 and 8 and how many bones they're going to toss the mighty $EC.

8 team is perfect. 4 is a joke especially this year and 16 is stupid
