ACC Coaches on Brad

Alright, I know he's a star QB, but when someone says he can get out of the pocket and make plays..... well..... He's not very mobile, and doesn't throw well on the run. He does a lot of things really well, but not that. I hope Richt can help him out in that department. If anyone can, Richt can. If that happens, we have a real shot at the playoffs this year. I'm not talking Michael Vick mobility, just throwing on the move better. I think that can be done.

Well Tom Brady isn't mobile and neither was Dan Marino so give Brad a break he's been starting since his Freshman year, plus the fact he hasn't haven't had the best Coaching and the Offensive line hasn't been that good but he will get better.

And Dorsey was mobile? Kaaya is not mobile, so he needs to avoid sacks by getting rid of the ball, even if that means throwing it away if nothing's there, faster. Richt will make him a better QB than he already is.

INcanefane disagrees with the draft experts, the other fans, and now the coaches in the ACC.

All of the QB's mentioned in this thread were far more mobile in the pocket. Whether it was better pocket awareness, better footwork, or whatever....BK has been pretty bad whenever he has to move at all. Two left feet this far, that's what I think of him and any kind of movement.

As for outside of the pocket movement, Marino was better at this stage. Dorsey as well. Brady could move when he was asked to earlier in his career and will occasionally surprise with his feet.

I'm not knocking Brad, I am knocking the fool who said he could move around outside the pocket and make plays.

Mobility is not that much of an issue as opposed to a quick and accurate release. Give me an accurate QB w/ a gun over a running QB with poor football IQ. Richt will help Brad tremendously this year, and I look for Brad to make a mockery of Miami's passing records this year. Brad is the best pure QB we've had in a long, long while. What I mean by that is that we have a QB who will not only be a good/great college QB, but he'll also be a good/great pro-QB imo.

Marino had that little bunny hop in the pocket where he'd bounce 6 inches and make a guy miss by a yard.

I don't care if it came from Jesus himself, it's not true.

Let me see if I get this right, if he was a mobile QB you would say "yeah but" he needs to learn to be more of a pocket passer. But he's a pocket passer now you say "yeah but" he needs to learn to be more of a mobile QB. Who is your ideal prototype QB for reference?

God, some people.... I don't WANT him to be some dual threat QB, alright? I want him to be a little more accurate on the move, because it's one of the few weak spots in his game. I can't recall the game last year where he had, I think Walton, wide open for a TD. However, he was on the move and missed him wildly. He needs to work on this, because the pocket isn't always going to be a perfect protective bubble. That "coach" acting like Kaaya can make plays outside of the pocket is wrong. It might be the only time he struggles making plays.

But let me get this straight, one guy says it didn't come from a writer, but a coach. Nowhere did I say it came from a writer. Now you come along and try to put words in my mouth as well. Maybe stick to your own thoughts you seem to have a hard time arranging.

For the record, Brad Kaaya is far and away the best pro prospect we've had in 30 years at the QB position.

The question was who is your prototype QB for reference? That question is asked only as a reference to understand your point. I tend to agree with Richt that all Kayaa needs to improve on is his footwork and everything else will improve naturally. I think what hurts most young QB's is that coaches try to make them do things that are not natural to them. Therefore, the QB usually digress over the years as opposed to improving.

Yeah you guys are right Brad sux, what do these coaches know...if and I said IF we didn't have the SORRIEST OL in the country, yes the fattest and the slowest and the sorriest, he wouldn't have to ******* run like Deshaun. You idiots don't know ****, he will get drafted before Deshaun, put your $$$ up. Let the down vote begin..Hey guess what our OL sux. But keep thinking Alex Gall is good.

So Brad Kaaya has now reached the level where anyone bringing up a legit flaw in his game gets ambushed by the orange and green goggles brigade?

We all think he's good but he has never taken a big game by the balls and won it. That includes the FSU game 2 years in a row. The guy is susceptible to pressure because he can't move away from it.

As for all the draft stuff and anonymous assistant coaches, this time last year Christian Hackenberg was the #1 pick in the draft. A few years ago it was Matt Barkley. A couple years before that it was Jimmy Clausen. People on this board (including myself) were saying Stephen ******* Morris had first round potential heading into his senior year.

I personally think Kaaya is better than all of those guys but the point is that right now there is nothing to talk about so the media is just creating narratives to fill time and they are usually pretty inaccurate this far in advance, especially on guys who have a lot left to prove in college.

I knew this thread would be interesting. Our fans should be working as scouts, they know more than everyone else about Brads pro prospects. I don't understand why they are hanging out on a message board when they have this extensive knowledge of how to play the QB position. More so than college coaches(including our own), scouts, draft "gurus" and everyone else that thinks Brad is going to be a future 1st round pick and successful starter in the league. Don't worry most will be back on his bobbles come this fall, when he's lighting it up. The others will just make excuses.

Youse guys are all smart, Jimbo is the dumb one. we don't have one Starting OL that will get drafted after they've been here 4 years. Not one
