ACC abolishes transfer restrictions

I am ok with it, but I take the dad approach, keep your grades up and you handle your own business like 24x7 party if you want to. Let them ******* slip... then come home and enjoy the local jr college while living at home with a job and don't forget I aint a complaint box and you made your own choices.

This is how CFB is trending. In general as American culture gets more “honest” with itself, subcultures within it must follow suit. It’s about money. It always has been. This combined with players being able to profit off their own likeness should begin to even the playing field against the rich boosters of the juggernaut $EC conference. The other conferences must get competitive or else, what’s the point? What these college programs must understand is that strong majors sports programs drives enrollment numbers and better regular students. They work hand in hand. Always have.

And what is the penalty for tampering? Yeah, it goes on now but with this rule change you could have the wild west when it comes to players jumping teams.

Agree, but we sorta have that already. Kids are just testing the limits right now, which will make recruiting way more cutthroat as kids play the "start me or I'm leaving game" harder. The question is, how do coaches respond in terms or locker room and roster management when they start bending over the table for some of these "special" talents?

If I'm not mistaken, this still doesn't apply to schools in the ACC blocking players from going to specific schools, correct?
This is what I want to know. Can a coach still tell a kid who's transferring that he can't to X, Y and Z school? Does anyone know?

No. You no longer need a "release" from the school you are leaving. A couple of schools have tried to use leverage to release a kid from an LOI, but you can now transfer without some jag-a$$ coach blocking you. Hence, the "validity" of the conference taking action on your behalf (i.e., the SEC still has a 1-year sit-out for SEC-to-SEC transfers).

A Shapiro type media hyped allegation would sure cause a stampede out the door. What school attracts that from ESPN? “Hi, we have no players for this particular season.”

It could easily hurt us as well, we need to keep momentum.
It could but considering Clemson is the only school (at the moment) worth transferring to (depending on depth) then I like our odds of being a attractive destination for other players.

good step, with 50 of top 100 HS players attending 5 schools..... let them open it up period...
i can see a day were the schools outside of Bama, UGA, OSU, OU, Clemson & LSU have 15-20 FR
and the rest portal and transfers.....CMD gets the portal
