As someone who attended the University of Miami, I can say this past year embody why I am ashamed to have spent money attending the institution.

The state of the football program is an absolute laughingstock. I cannot recall ever seeing a time in College Football where you have a coach who is so far in over his head and so unhappy, yet the University Administration and BOT keep said individual employed to save a few bucks on a buyout and because they are completely apathetic to a rich history of success.

Every day that goes by, the situation gets more and more toxic.

And then you have shlt like "Fire Al Golden" signs being taken away from fans at basketball games and rising stars in the media industry like Pete (someone who attends UM) being shunned from interacting with the team.

UM would rather associate with people like Laz, a convicted felon who hasn't stepped foot inside a UM classroom, but stick their nose up at a student like Ariz.

It's despicable behavior. The school spits in the faces of alumni.

I despise Donna Shalala and what she turned the program into.

I despise the BOT for trustees for showing no appreciation for not only the past success of the program, but also for being completely ignorant toward how a thriving football program can help contribute to the progress of UM.

I despise Blake James for being a pvssy that is married to a man.

I despise having to "share" this fanbase with braindead idiots like Brock and #Canesfam .

I've tried considered myself a proud UM guy; not anymore.

More garbage from James.

My diploma has been draped in black since last year. My long standing Trust Fund for my grandchildren's tuition to attend The U was changed at end of last season to be for tuition to a list of universities with Miami expressly excluded. My first grand kid started college two months ago -- obviously not at Miami. Not sure I am embarrassed but I sure am made as ****.

Place is like one of those for profit diploma mills. Costs a fortune, you. Get minimal return. When you graduate or leave, they don't give 2 chits about you unless you throw a few million at them to keep their scheme going. No wonder Donna loved S**tpiro. Two of a kind.

Maybe so. But the ineptitude of those in positions of power should never have the self allotted leverage to compromise the integrity of a move one made in the spirit of self improvement and enrichment

My son will be attending a better school with a proud tradition of excellence not just in academics, but in sports as well.

Taking into account the Ariz gag order and censorship of Fire Al Golden signs at basketball games, and I'm downright embarrassed. This is North Korea-type shlt.

If you correlate the quality of football as the quality of the university, you are clearly a loser. Ohio State is the perfect school for you.

I'm glad to have not went to a POS community college called Miami.

Eh, I went to the University of Miami and I can tell you the quality of education provided in the engineering school is quite similar to the quality of football being played.

I am trying to work with the university to change that but they are quite stuck in their ways... just like our athletic department.

CHANGE IS SCARY!

Actually, that's an interesting point. You are correct, but perceptions in the general population are another thing. There is a connection between the number of applicants to the university, and the success of the football and basketball programs. Most people want to attach themselves to success, not failure.

Right now, the football program is a failure, and it rubs off on the rest of the university.

Yea! Another thread started so someone can tell the world how disappointed they are and embarrassed to be associated with the U. How about someone opens an instagram account so Canes fans can post selfies of their tears.

Everyone's disappointed and was embarrassed yesterday. Are we done now? Today is a new day. Let's celebrate the end of the Golden era, and focus on the future.
