D & Pete have been discussing the current strength of the SEC. It's noted they obviously aren't as strong as in years past but both agree the SEC is still overall the best conference, just no longer dominant. I'm looking at this argument. The primary reason for the SEC decline is NIL. Prior to NIL they were paying everyone under the table. Now they have to compete with everyone and they have steadily come back to the pack a bit every year. This is the fifth season of NIL and it's also the weakest season yet for the SEC. Next year all the prior to NIL players should be gone. 2026 should be a level playing field across the board. How much more decline overall will we see?
