CMR did not Himself have recruiting successes the last few years after he turned the OC duties over to Bobo, he acted like a CEO as now...he had nationally rated recruiters on staff like McClendon, Sheerer, John Lilly, Mike Bobo, Garland, and none came with him to Miami and for a good reason. He just sorta lucked up on the recruiters he did have....they all had great personalities and would have loved to have had them on my sales staff. When they locked on to a recruit, it was all over....at signing day there were no surprises, Good or bad...I have followed Uga since the orange bowl with Mira and Rakestraw.

Kirby is recruiting more nationally now with UGA. Its what he brought from Bama. He can lose guys in state and grab 4 or 5 stars out of state. We arent really doing that. Also they signed a monster class last year..those instate kids saw that and arent trying to ride pine.

Miami has a dearth of issues with recruiting.

One of many...is some horrendous evaluation skills...this compounded with being lazy relationship builders is (one of many things) killing the program.

Miami whiffs on players they can't afford? I get it.

Miami not recruiting (just using 2019 class as an example for posterity...this list would be too long if I went back several coaches) the following players or poorly recruiting the following players is always a problem.

Ge'mon Eaford
Kaiir Elam
John Dunmore
Jaden Davis
Nayquan Wright
Wardrick Wilson
DJ Williams
John Dixon
Daniel Carter / Vincent Davis
Jamar Brown/James Gordon IV
Malcolm Ray / Kancey from Northwestern
The big TE from Gibbons
Vincent Murphy/Kaleb Boateng/Mark Fox/Medley/Smith/pick a SoFla OL
Breion Fuller/Kelani Norris or another local WR
an in-state QB (Mauer, Scalzo, whatever)

You get the point. Don't miss the forest for the trees. How Miami can evaluate a bunch of Power 5 players different than them and think they are unworthy of a real offer is bananas. What makes us think we are better than Oregon at this point? South Carolina? FSU?

You don't like a guy in there - personally - cool. But how can you just so widely not barely recruit or if you did, late after a long no contact period, but everyone in the country is all over these guys early? Blows my mind, man. And here we are...telling Kaleb Boateng 'thanks, but no thanks' but out here taking commitments from ZION NELSON.

Both are backups...but ffs.
