Listen, fellas, it was an awesome season. I know everyone on this board is hurting a lot this morning. To come so close to #6 was torture. But here is the reality:

We lost to the #1 ranked team in the country, who went 16-0 and was favored to win by over a touchdown. That’s nothing to be ashamed of.

I think the fact that their name is Indiana clouds a lot of posters’ judgment. Don’t get it twisted, we just lost to the most balanced team in college football. Their roster — from coach down to player — had zero holes. We cannot say the same. And unfortunately, in a game of that magnitude, when you need everything to go your way, that stuff matters.

Couldn’t be more proud of how this team fought. We didn’t roll over and quit like Oregon or Alabama. We proved we were the 2nd best team in the country, and we made them sweat that game until the final moments. Don’t let the trolls from other fan bases get you going because all of them would do unthinkable things to be in the same position we were last night.

Mario has a big job this off-season. We need to plug these holes on the roster. But more importantly, we need to replace what we lost, which, if I’m being honest, is next to impossible.

Losing Bain and Mesi hurts a lot. There will be a drop off at that position. But if you can get better in the secondary and at LB, then the drop off might not be as noticeable. Need Lightfoot and Lowe to be great. Would be awesome to land Wilson in the portal.

Losing Zero and Thomas is a huge loss as well. Not sure how we replace them.

If quarterback goes the way it’s supposed to go, then our WR room needs to take the next step. How much better are the guys we got in the portal compared to Marion and Daniels? I’m not sure it’s that dramatic. So can Trader, Moore, and Upshaw develop? Against better defenses, our WR struggled to get separation. That can’t happen next year.

I’m not worried about the offensive line. I know that unit will still be solid, even if it takes a slight step back.

Moral of the story: making the playoffs next year is now the expectation. And it should be the expectation going forward. We got the right guy leading the program and I know he won’t sleep until we bring home #6.

Love y’all. Hold your heads up high today. Go Canes!

Tough on everyone but that’s life, gotta find happiness in that we get to feel ******. Love the team and y’all. Gotta get better, on to the next 💚🧡

Losing some studs for sure, and I hope we can replace some of the production. All in all it was a positive season. This team played with a lot of heart for sure. No quit all yr like seasons past.

I am sad but beyond proud to be a Canes fan right now. We screwed up at times but we kept fighting and kept coming back. This is just part of the journey and I just so proud to be a Canes fan right now.

Today really sucks. But starting tomorrow, the pain will begin to erode. This program is no longer a laughing stock. And that means more to me than anything else.

A bit bummed out but Canes didn’t get embarrassed and played hard. This was one of the most fun seasons as a fan I’ve had in a long time. Go Canes
