A theory on an OC (or lack thereof)

Jedd Fisch and Mark Whipple weren't hired until January. The common thread, they came from the NFL. Wonder if that's why we aren't hearing anything on that front

Interesting theory, but, respectfully, you're wrong. Mark Richt and Blake James are already hard at work looking into any and all options for improving the offense next season. Here is a live look-in on their exhaustive, all hours, 24-7 search for excellence.

Generally, yeah, January was always a time for coaching moves as they coincided with the annual coaches conference in January. But, I am not sure that is the place for that now as teams are hiring left and right in early December.

I think any decisions to be made will be after the early signing period. Class is so fragile now i doubt CMR wants to upend it anymore than it is. Add that with bowl practice it's just better timing to wait until after the bowl game if any changes are made.

Looks like Miami doesn't want to touch Briles, perhaps due to his name/history.

So how about Graham Harrell from North Texas as our offensive coordinator and passing game coach? He was a Mike leach disciple at WSU and displays good passing game numbers at North Texas. Then bring in Bob Bostad from Wisconsin as offensive line and running game coach. He is currently Wisconsin's LB coach, but has coach OL/running game before, and produced excellent results. Someone will probably pick Bobstad up to be OL coach this off season, why not us.

This happens every year here when someone is fired and nobody has replaced him or if someone that is terrible has not been fired yet.

"Oh it because they are waiting on an NFL guy."

Maybe by some miracle we do hire an OC, but trust me it has not happened because we are waiting for an NFL guy, if anything it is because of our bowl game. Although again even that is very unlikely. Whenever something like this happens we hire a relative unknown coach (little to no college coaching experience) from high school or college or don't fire the coach. It is not because we are waiting for the NFL, it is more likely we are waiting for High School football to finish.

Richt had Al Golden's staff out recruiting up until he actually let them go. There's no proof that he's going to fire anybody, but I assume Richt will wait until after the bowl game before making any staff changes...if it does happen.

It's rare for any team to make staff changes before playing in a bowl game. Pretty much every recent hire is by a team that isn't playing in a bowl.

Why would the bowl game stop the hiring of an OC? We aren't replacing an OC. If we hired ome now he wouldn't need to do anything but recruit. Richt being the OC for one more game. That being said I don't believe that we are hiring an OC.

I don't agree but this is absolutely funny. Best comical post of the year so far....LOL.

Starting to think no one is being fired. Can't believe this is happening again.
