Plausible deniability...

Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens told reporters Monday that Miami never reached out to him to express interest in talking to Cristobal.

"The usual courtesy is to reach out to the institution, and that never happened," he said.

However, he said he was well aware that Miami was interested in Cristobal.

"We understand that's the alma mater, that's home and all the elements that go into it," he said.

I don't know about "savage", but in this case, it was clearly beneficial to have a President that has no idea what is "supposed to be done" within an Athletic Department...

And I am somewhat sarcastic. I completely respect Frenk bringing in Vincent and Jules...

is it MLB or NFL (or both) where u must ask permission (or maybe its just notification) before contacting coaches or managers about "switching"...?

Or maybe they've discontinued that requirement? I seem to remember tho it was called "tampering" and draft choices or fines were sometimes forfeited.

Not sure why NCAA is diff... but then they are strange in a lot of ways it sometimes seems.
