A serious question.

I looked for a thread on season record predictions but couldn’t find one

Anyone recall one??

In today’s college football, no.

We came in with big concerns at DE depth. We lost a start mid game and it showed. We get to see if 4 kids under 20 can fill the void. We really Need Blount, Scott, and Lightfoot to live up to 5stars.

We came in with big question marks at WR. That really hasn’t changed. CJ is good. Toney is elite. Then nothing that has said “I’m good or elite.” Maybe Moore or Trader grabs Marion’s spot.

We came in with an unknown for Beck. Is his elbow 100%? I would say he isn’t 100% but the 4 INTs were more of a mental issue than physical which was the other concern. Do we get 23 or 24 Beck?

We came into the season thinking we had a good OL. I’m not sure McCoy or Samson at LG has worked as well as 2024 Rivers.

We came in thinking RBs would be ok. Martinez was pretty dang good and Lyle has been hurt. The biggest issue, we don’t have a passing game that forces teams to back off.

We came in thinking Lofton was all world. Not even close.

Before Louisville, it was look at the schedule, not a ranked team left…

Bottom line, the curse is that we beat ourselves. Louisville played good, and had we matched their intensity and coaching, we likely cover the spread at least…if we show up like we can and should, we beat their ***…but we didn’t show up and they did.

This is why I can never look at the schedule and go…win, win, win…etc.

Clemson isn’t good this year, but they just went down to SMU and got beat…we head there in two weeks. Should we beat them…? Of course…but what team shows up?

****, the way we handled Cal last year on the road relying 110% on Cam…has me thinking, could we pull a FSU and lose out there to a subpar team in Stanford? Of course I can’t see it…but I also thought we would show up for Louisville.
