A ray of hope, or same old dope?

He went to Western Carolina but he's a Camden guy. He makes $575k to coach secondary. That's why i think it would take a job as a play caller or co-coordinator at minimum to get him.

But that was going to be Manny's DC at Temple and then Rumph magically came back after all the reports of him being fired.. after Brown was hired by Rutgers and made bank. We couldn't top that pay for a CB coach.

I think Manny tries to make it work. He could be a co-dc with Blake or something (worst case scenario)

I'm obviously just speculating. I'm 95% Banda is taking the job at USU as i posted earlier. Zero chance Rumph saves his job for the 3rd time in 3 years. Opens the door for Manny to take a shot and get the guy he's wanted.

If he was going to be Manny's DC at Temple, why wouldn't we just make him DC at Miami? It's not like Manny will hire someone super-different from him, and super-powerful, like Muschamp.

It could certainly kickstart our DB recruiting again, to have a guy with a DB pedigree as the overall DC.

If i had to put money on it.. that would be my guess.

Maybe even as co-dc and takes over play calling and Baker stays.

Wish we would just clean house on D and start over. At this point that might only involve firing Rumph and Baker with Banda leaving on his own. Stroud could retire and I'd say Patke stays as ST coordinator and could even remain coaching strikers.

Brown is Schianos guy similar to Banda being Manny’s. Not sure manny can steal Brown from Schiano

Yeah X is with Canesville. I watch them on Youtube. They do have alot of insight and they do have credentials with the school. BUT they also be wrong sometimes mainly with recruiting just like everybody else lol . X wouldn't put false info out about staff changes tho.
They’re the epitome of South Florida amateur media. They definitely have sauces but jump the gun on everything just so they can be one of the first.

Sometimes it makes em first on arrival, sometimes it makes them look like fools because they’re treating a rumor as gospel.

Just because he can’t recruit doesn’t mean he doesn’t know football. I’m sure he is strong with Xs&Os.

Diaz isn’t Al....

diaz creates the striker position when he saw his defense struggled on 3rd down

Diaz realized he completely foookes the OC hire up trusting Enos to be a great Bama hire... and brought in lashlee

this dude will not go down without throwing everything he can at the wall to make it work instead of sinking with bad hires or bad schemes
Diaz is the second coming of Jimmy Johnson. It just taking him little longer to arrive.

No offense to you, but I doubt it.

Lots of people are jumping on this “something’s going to happen” bandwagon.

What is this guy’s track record? We’ve got a documented track record here of @Cribby ... I swear I think these guys come on this site and read, go on other sites as well, and just come up with educated guesses to try to get social media clout

Honestly most of them are just freaking aggregators.

You have a fan base here full of thousands of morons that hung on papacanes every word, for years and years. Only a few of us were sounding the alarm about him being a total fraud. Which he eventually was proven to be.

whether it’s real I not
I just want hope
Pls let there be changes

I mean the whole scheme needs to go. It’s Manny’s scheme and unless he completely gives in and hires a real DC with their own scheme, nothing will change.
That’s it..no matter who is hired unless Manny is willing to get rid of this sHT scheme of his,a scheme that has gotten him canned from multiple jobs I might add, nothing is gonna change.

This bend but don’t break crap relying on TO’s,sacks and TFL works against marginal teams but the good teams with the good coaches will continue to destroy it.Good news is we play in a league with mostly marginal teams.Bad news is there is one great team and a couple of above average teams with the coaching and players to do what UNC did to it.Then when we face any OOC team they too will beat our brains in.

manny’s biggest challenge this off-season along with staff changes will be letting go of his ego for the betterment of the program and let the new guy do his own thing. If he won’t do this he will be gone after year 4 at the latest cause nothing will change. We will beat the marginal teams with better talent and win 8-9 games and get blown out by teams with equal or better talent and lose the same 2-3 games.

your move Manny.Let’s see what you got.

The DC for the most epic beatdown in the long, storied history of the Miami Hurricanes football program has to go. The only way Baker could possibly survive that is if his resume showed that he has also shut down other explosive offenses several times in the past, so the UNC game can be chalked up to some bad breaks. As far as I know, he doesn't have even one game in the last two years where he can plausibly point and say, "I've shut down a top 15 offense before, I'll stop UNC next time."

Not to derail the thread, but I want to add that the guy who is skating through all this focus on the defense is Lashlee. Yeah 62 points and giving up gazillion yards is bad, but why was Lashlee only able to manage 26 points against a middle of the pack defense? If we'd lost 62-45 or something like that, I'd say that it's clear that Baker didn't do his job, but the fact is neither of them did.
Agreed, Lashlee has not be immune from criticism, even that game. I will add the Canes were down big fairly quick. Still, scored 23 in the second half but far too little, far too late.
