Man I can't help but think about the scene where Gene Wilder's friend in that gif holds a gun to his own head and says a line that I can't even type on here for fear of being cancelled. It's amazing what they got away with in the 70's and before.

Great movie though.

They poked fun at everything, nothing held back.

Depending on what channel you watch (or DVD you play), the N-word was still liberally used on TV during the 1970s, on TV shows like Sanford & Son and The Jeffersons.

I was even watching an old SNL episode from Season 5 (1979-80) where the word was adapted into a different word, but you still knew what they were saying.

A lot of changes within our lifetimes.

Most reruns of All in the Family will leave anyone under the age of 40 speechless. When I was a wee lad, my parents and grandparents would watch it, but I was too young to get what they were saying. I remember I was holed up in some crappy hotel one time on a business trip and was watching it. The stuff that Archie said made me cringe and I'm not easy to offend in the slightest. Not that I was offended, but the cringe factor was real. It wasn't kinda racist; it was straight up in your face racist.
