A lot of talk about "spring" and how it might conflict with the NFL's schedule, so consider the following:

Power 5 goes to 8-game conference-only seasons.

Most big universities are trending towards wrapping up the fall semester by Thanksgiving.

Power 5 plays half the season (4 consecutive weekends, no bye weeks) from, approximately, Thanksgiving to Christmas. No conflict with final exams. Players can stay at their on-campus "bubbles" when most of the students will be gone.

NFL schedules its playoff games as usual.

Once the spring semester starts up again and most of the NFL teams have been eliminated, Power 5 resumes play, around mid-January. Players have had a few bye weeks, anyone out for Covid in December is back in uniform. Even if play resumes on NFC-AFC championship weekend, the NFL pushes both games to Sunday. Power 5 wraps up the conference games by mid to late February.

Power 5 plays the remaining 4 conference games, followed by Conference championship games in late February, then football playoff games in March. The MOST games played by any team would be 11 (assuming Final Four playoffs, or maybe 12 if expanding to an Elite Eight).

The entire schedule leaves ample time for NFL combine/draft, or maybe just a one-month pushback.

Everyone gets most of what they want, everyone is (relatively) happy. Minimal disruption to school year/finals, minimal disruption to the NFL.

Just trying to help. I don't expect Beta Blake to get these brilliant ideas.

Classes will be completed by Thanksgiving. Exams will be given remotely after Thanksgiving.

Love the thinking outside the bun 👍🏼.
One of my concerns is how the population is going to react when other viruses begin to do their normal thing in Fall/Winter. Influenza A and B. What then? Will everything moronically get lumped into Covid19 or even despair based on the mentality of germophobia with whatever viruses including flus are going around at the time?

You can get a flu shot. It's not 100%, and not everyone gets one, but I'll bet a lot more people will do so this year.
