A message from Leon Searcy Jr to UM Juniors

we just have to prepare - if we have not already - that 2012 is going to be another tough sled w/ nonexistent experienced depth. But once the young guys get some experience, we should make huge strides in 2013.

A recruiter these days should be as much a behavioral specialist as he is a football expert.

Your whole post was dead on especially the fantasy land part, but this stood out to me as the most important part.

It's a good thought, but when you decide to go pro rarely effects your playing career. At least it hasn't for kids from UM. What he really said that is dead on, is you have to have kids who love the U and only leave when they are absolutely ready to win. You can't win without great senior leaders.

It still completely blows my mind how these guys actually still think leaving early is a good idea. I mean are they really that unintelligent?

[/h][h=6]Im with you Leon and if your not ready physically or mentally it's going to be a rough go..... These guys are good at the next level and average college players don't cut it.....[/h]

This

for a former player, father of a current player to say this on a public forum leads me to believe its a lot worse than we think.

I think the divide between players who have bought in and players who havent is pretty wide.

Im honestly not surprised, i remember hearing rumblings of players flat out quitting last year after FSU

He's not only a former player, he was a great former player, a top draft pick, the father of a current player, but a scout for the best team in football and defending Super Bowl Champions.

Ole Zo knows whats what.

didn't Leon lose all his money he made in the NFL? He was once the highest paid lineman in the league. He spent every dollar of it and then some, iirc. Sad.

Truthfully, I think we'll be a better team in the long run by losing these guys. I would rather take my lumps for a year, get these young guys some legit PT, get them in a more rigorous S & C program, and then line em up in 2013 bigger, stronger, and with more confidence.

I believe he's the father of a couple of current players, no? Doesn't he another kid or two that are playing at other colleges? For some reason I remember Zo being a seed spreader.

Leon spoke some real ****, only guy I think should be going but I dont want him to lol is L. Miller... RB need to get it while they can and the RB class is weak

the rest are idiots and or being iven bad advice...

if streeter comes back and kills it he is a top 15 pick, now he is 2-3 round... MAYBE. thats a big ******* difference

forston/ray ray and the idiots that think they are boss and cant even dominate Dooky , when ur cut after sucking balls at a camp or get a few invites but no sign. You realize what a mistake u made, that said you can come detail my cars out front, wake me up when they done bruh

From his Facebook
"What is it about a 6-6 season which says you're ready for the NFL. I hate to see young men being exploited by dream sellers!!! Everybody in the league is big, strong, and fast. What seperates the men from the boys is the development of fundamentals, techniques, and work ethics which is essential to you're survival in the NFL. I hate to see kids chase the cash then a few years from now, they can't get a call back from their agent and are told their careers are over. Look, I could have come out my junior year and was projection 1st round. I decided that being a CANE was more important plus I wasn't ready!!! I needed to develop. If you're a baller, the cash is coming and he NFL ain't going no where."

this is what needs to be instilled in these kids head

I agree that we need more kids that worry about the school and team and less about NFL careers. the money will come with hard work and dedication.

This. Ray Ray can't even recognize UVa's whack *** halfback option enough to stop it. What's he going to do when say, Tom Brady, is hurrying up to the line and calling plays quickly to gas the D?

You really think that kid's gonna be on the field the same time as Tom Brady? Maybe after the game to get an autograph.
