I would think they would be able to pay more if they wanted to. Paying a $77 million buyout is just bonkers.
That’s just f u money for a buyout. Has to be the highest buy out in college football history.
Just guessing, but maybe they figured getting a good coach and putting more towards NIL will pay better dividends.
 
This is the perfect hire for them. Stoops big problem has been attracting QBs and now he’s at a place that can buy them of him.

Good luck getting anybody off that Dline to transfer. They just got a guaranteed NFL paycheck playing in his system.

It’s the highest officially ever and by a good margin with NO offset… he’s getting every penny and their 12th man foundation is paying for it…

No their definatly going more frugal this time as their AD already said he’s cutting costs like leaving on Fridays instead of Thursdays, eliminating off field roles (analysts), and trimming down the staff budget for the on field guys.

They’ll still be spending but they’ve definitely realized they ****ed up with Jimbo

despite the uproar, I think he’ll do just fine defensively there.

It’s the offense I question. I would assume the 12th man will give him whatever he wants $ wise for an OC, it’s just his philosophy and whether or not he feels the need to go bro style in the SEC.

I like stoops. But he won’t last with the leash they give him. Stoops took over in 2013. Def not a flashy hire
