A few quick thoughts b4 I head out to the fights...

Choc Gray on the FB dive may be a huge lift to our third down woes this season. The ability to pick up 3rd and 1 is groundbreaking stuff for the Miami Hurricanes this decade.

This was my biggest takeaway from this game. We seem to have found a consistent answer to our third and short woes. For some reason, the OL seems to get good push on those FB runs.

Rosier was 13 for 23 passing. 56% against a poor defense. I posted in the off season that the magical number is 58.3%,which is the absolute minimum for an NFL team to take a QB in the draft. He ran the ball well, but look past the rushing TDs ( he broke the record last year so this isn't anything new) and consider what happens when we play a decent defense - his inaccuracy will cost us. I didn't see anything that Perry couldn't have done, but with better accuracy.
MR won't run duplicate that rushing success against better defenses.

- Credit where it's due, Malik Rosier may have missed some throws and some of his completions still weren't that accurate - but he did a nice job in leading the UM offense today and in the 2nd half as Manny Diaz's unit was getting shredded he lead the team on key scoring drives. Again, he doesn't have to be spectacular but if he can just give us serviceable play, this unit can put up real numbers

- Jeff Thomas continues to be the guy. All-America bound in my view, he is now our #1 WR(sorry Ahmonn). Richt needs to continue to find ways to get him the ball consistently

- Choc Gray has found a nice niche as a chain moving fullback. Great for him

- Deejay Dallas is the best RB on this team. He has the best feel, vision and feet. I still like Homer but I think he's better suited as a second back that gashes fatigued defenses late in games with his speed

- Zach Feagles punted well today, his best overall game at Miami by far. As for Bubba Baxa, good grief, just have this kid boot it out of the endzone(which he can do) every time. Don't complicate things and give teams good field position after scores, which occurred twice. Special teams overall is bad, Hartley is a great recruiter and as a special teams coach the best thing I can say is - well, he can really recruit.

- Defense was dominant early, Gerald Willis III is a trench bully, he's playing at an All-American level. But Im concerned by how dinged up this unit was today.

- Shaq Quarterman played one of his worst games at UM, was really lost in space and beat to the edge a few times

- Bobby Knowles, yeah, I know, I know

- Anyhooo, a road win is a road win. The Canes shattered the Glass Bowl. OK, Im off to the Golovkin-Canelo fights and pre-game festivities

(BTW- FSU is an absolute dumpster fire, I cant comprehend how bad they have been early in the

Dave arnold > todd hartley as special teams coach 😳

To be fair to Quarterman he's not alone - all three of those vaunted Juniors have disappeared this year. McCloud got a jump on his class mates by disappearing last year.

It's the only time McCloud has ever gotten a jump on something
