This is not an “I told you so” thread, it’s an “I’m numb to it because I expected this the day he was hired” thread. Tried to warn you guys but many of you ate up the fact that he “coached in the SEC” even though the dude was just fired and ran out of town weeks before. The guy got fired midseason, for crying the eff out loud! When they don’t allow you to even finish the season, it means your pretty **** bad.
This man is a 9-4, 10-3 coach at his peak performance levels, so get used to it, because this man isn’t go anywhere for at least 10 years. And the fact he donated a $1M of his own money to to IPF **** near makes him Teflon.
So, get used to 2-3 games like this per season during his tenure. This is EXACTLY who he was at UGA, and it’s why he was fired for non performance.
But many of you thought he’d win here, due to Miami talent and some crazy idea that the SEC was some kind of super conference, so wins in the ACC would come easier.
No, winners win, doesn’t matter the conference -and mediocrity always shows itself. Richt is an above average coach; he’s not a winner. We now have an 18 year sample size that proves this. He has only TWO conference championships in 18 years and he’s never even had a team play in a title game, even though he’s coached at marquee programs.
More proof??? A different coach took HIS players to the championship game and nearly had it won in year 2!
And I hate to break it to you, there is no OC coming here. That’s solidifed because Brown and Dugans are Co-OC’s, which means he’d have to demote both and strip away their titles to bring in another guy. Not happening, Cap’n
Best case scenario is he allows Richt Jr or Brown/Dugans call plays but we’d still be running this antiquated offense. We’re flucked either way, kinda like riding on a roller coaster with bad breaks, so all we can do is saddle up and enjoy the ride
