A few observations from practice

I can absolutely see Njoku as a 'move' tight end, being motioned, being put all over the place in certain situations as a match-up nightmare. Blocking and sealing the edge probably wont be something he'll be asked to do

Your last sentence is the interesting part . That’s EXACTLY the drill I saw him in on yesterday . They were making him block D Ends. We’ll see

I was there til it started lightning and they were not in pads....but a few things I found interesting

- There is zero doubt they are at least toying with the idea of Evidence moving to TE. He started practice doing some drills with the receivers but when the DE vs TE blocking drills broke off into their groups, Evidence was in there with the TE’s.
- Probably been mentioned a million times already but Tate was definitely with the 1’s. As a matter of fact I just kept an eye on Jeff Thomas and Osborn a lot of the time since I’m assuming they are locks to be the starters ....and every those two were on the field , Tate was at QB. Let’s see what happens
-Our punter may not be Reggie Roby reincarnated, but I don’t think we’re going to have the issues we had last year again . Pretty good hang time and he ripped a few. Even the ones he didn’t rip had good hang time . Looks like a division one punter at least
-Minor thing but brought a smile to my face . As soon as the lightning alarms went off and team started heading indoors, manny himself came over to where I and other fans were and told us if the lightning stopped they’d come right back out . He didn’t need to run over and do that , I thought it was pretty cool
What was your overall impression of their effort ?

You're not gonna believe it...but I actually saw a SHALLOW CROSS.

I wept.

If it happened I’d like the move A LOT. I can see Njoku as a jimmy graham type hybrid TE. That can be a major weapon

I’m not usually a fan of CIS’ favorite pastime of switching player’s position but if Njoku isn’t gaining any traction at WR and is instead getting passed up, it might be a good idea to take a look at him as a TE. He has too much athletic potential to just waste away on the bench or to lose him to the portal IMO.

Some other things I saw

- A ton of jet sweeps. Like a lot of them.
- I only keyed in on the OL a couple times but it looked to me every time the obvious starters (Donaldson, Scaife, Gaynor) were in.....Zion was with them. May mean nothing but let's see if this kid does the unthinkable and starts at LT from day 1. Having the luxury of kicking Scaife inside to guard would do this line a WORLD of goodness.
-Pope looked fast as all **** and Robert Burns actually looked healthy.

Gonna need Burns so we can ease Lingard back.

Ditto. I actually visualized that when he enrolled, as I’m guessing many others also did. Imagine him and Mallory in the red zone!!!
