A crucial missed read and overthrow by Malik Rosier

There was no missed read because he never even looked to the other side of the field. Rosier pre-determined he was going to Cager at the snap and did nothing to look off the safety.

That's a QB that's been in a college system for 5 years and locks on to a target and throws it even when coverage dictates he look elsewhere.

Thing is, the safety is already committing to Cagers side pre-snap. He doesnt even need to look off the safety. Should've just been pitch and catch to Richard's.

Got to agree
Kind of difficult to trash play calling when the QB is consistently missing open receivers and making bad throws. There were plays to be made. Time to move on.
I mean you have two WR's running goes, and you got cover 1. One of these mother****ers is GOING to be open. Playcalling in this situation was A1.. thats why I don't care that Richt is calling plays... but I think the ole man is getting stubborn. If your QB makes reads using half his brain, you need to simplify the plays until his half functioning brain can figure the **** out.

I am willing to bet whatever Richt is pedaling QB wise is more complicated than what Bama is pitching to their QB's. Has to be.

his supposed 50/50 balls are really 10/90

Bottom line is Rosier has a low football IQ, that's still not talked about enough IMO
We keep hearing Rosier is the guy cause he is the only one that understands the offense. Yet, he doesn’t seem to understand much at all.

I’m convinced it is the RPO portion that the young guys haven’t mastered yet. Reading that key defender and deciding whether to handoff, throw, or keep it and run.

Square peg in a round hole. The offense needs to be tailored to the player, and Richt isn’t doing that. We saw it with Kaaya year 1, and we are seeing it now. It is disheartening.

Cager had the position to. This dude threw the ball to the fcking camera man.

This is what made me so **** angry on that play, maybe Cager catches it maybe he doesn't but give the guy a chance. How hard is it to keep the ball in f@ckin play?

Once again. Richt called the play, the WR was open

Watch Lsu attack the middle of the field. That is an "open" receiver. That DB ran the route for him, textbook coverage. Right in his hip pocket, used sideline as extra defender. Sure he should have thrown back shoulder or high pointed the ball & given WR a chance but if we are starting threads *****ing about missing this "open" guy, fold the freaking program.

Not a bad decision to go with Cager. He was open, just a crappy throw. Wasn't that the drive that we had some momentum running the ball and then inexplicably we decided to go for 2 successive sideline throws?

I'm not going to bash Richt on play calling, but I will get on him for the QB situation. The guy knows what a top level college QB should look like. He's had Stafford and Murray. Not to mention, he signed Eason, although the jury still may be on him.

Regardless, if he saw the goods that Malik was delivering and eventually bought it, that's on him. It's on him for not holding Rosier to a higher standard. It's on him for not seeking out another player to reach a higher standard. It's on him to not hold his son accountable to that standard.

It's no secret. College teams go as your QB goes. Look at the wonders Watson did for Dabo and Clemson. Or how a QB from Mililani, HI lead UCF to a Peach Bowl win.

Rosier flat out sucks. There's no two ways about it. He looks like Kaepernick when he started to fall flat after the Niners' most recent Superbowl run. So many misreads, no progression, overthrows to a 6'4" Tarantula with a 30+ vert, anything less than a perfect pocket and he tucks and runs.. It's almost as if his only trait is to throw a football. That's it. The strengths on his NFL scouting report read "Throws a football." Sick of this dude.

Our WR's feel you...

Man, I wish their receivers were as "open" as Cager was on that play.

You are assuming we have a QB on the roster that is better than Rosier and Richt has completely ignored that fact? Come on man! Perry was a highly touted kid as well as Williams. One is a True Frosh and the other a RS Frosh. Richt has had no choice but to play Rosier because of experience and maturity. I think the other two will be better once they grasp the offense and get some opportunities. You don't throw them into the fire at LSU. Perry's dumbass could have probably had his shot but he was suspended.

Give the QB position a little bit of time.

Once again. Richt called the play, the WR was open, and Malik managed to avoid the open WR.

And the WR's know this, they actually understand the game. This is why some of them are upset. If they ran routes or caught the ball poorly as Rosier, you think they wouldn't lose snaps?

AR was the correct read on that play. The DB and LB jumped the out route leaving AR one on one. Any pass that leads him ever so slightly is a TD. Cager was covered by the CB and S over the top.

Nope, that would be Jeff Thomas.

Richards is no longer the best WR on the team, He's 3rd behind Thomas & Hightower.

I can see you half way with that. Jeff played out of his mind and literally his body. The dude layed it all out and even got love on twitter from LSU's honey badger. I think Jeff Thomas has accepted the fact that Rosier sucks and has changed his game to include acrobatic catches. If Rosier was half as accurate has Kaaya, AR82 would be able to do his thing. AR looking like T.O. if he keeps complaining though. Hightower is just a dawg. He knows how to leverage his body against a defender and just has Steve Largent mentality of catching everything that comes his way even if he is not the fastest or strongest.

This is what makes him so bad. He could have thrown one of his **** poor throws to Richards and it still would have been a TD. I honestly think he just tosses the ball up and hopes for the best. He has no concept of the reads and progressions/match ups.

He isnt even giving our guys a chance to make plays. His numbers would be way worse if it wasnt for a number of acrobatic catches.
