All right let me start off by saying this class is very good, but not elite. Offensively this class is elite top 2 A+. Defensively though it is top 20 and a B-. What people tend to forget when rating is that it is out of the total possible. For us based on SF recruits with offers and recruited. This was one of the best South Florida defensive classes out there especially with DBs. I believe Ivey Frierson and Hall are fantastic, but you missed out on Jobe, Samuel, Campbell, and Surtain who are also fantastic.

Regardless that is not why I started this thread. What I find to be a big concern is what Diaz said just this week in an article (if someone could find the exact quote please share it). He stated that he is not worrying about LBs and that he only needed 1 this cycle because next year is loaded with linebackers and we will stack up then. He went on to say that since the staff got to Miami they had been planning for a big LB class in 19 and a big DB class in 18.

Well it is 18 and we only got 4 DBs. If the staff for the past 3 years have been focusing on this 18 DB class including the heritage boys, pouring all their resources and losing without a back up, it says a lot of the staff's ability to recruit on defense and recognize if they are going to get recruits. He stated that we were going to stack up on DBs this class, yet we only got 4. This class defensively was all about DBs and we struck out on the majority of them. That is why it is a big deal that we didn't close on the heritage CBS. It is not just what we wanted but what the staff planned on.

It is clear this staff needs to reevaluate how they recruit on defense. The offensive staff deserves a raise.

Kirby really came into SF and just took 3 DB'S from our backyard. wow

We got 5 DBs: Hall, Frierson, Blades, Ivey, and Bethel.
Your point is otherwise well taken, though.

10 coaches... Combined to get 3 kids after the early signing period.

3 star corner
3 star D-lineman
3 or 4 star receiver

We. Stopped. Working.

Miami screwed up CB recruiting big time in 2018. This after missing on the 2017 recruits and the fan base excusing it by saying how loaded 2018 would be.

Miami signed one pure CB in Ivey and project in Bethel. Frierson and Blades are CB/S hybrids better suited for S roles if we being honest. Hall is a pure safety, that's why going 0 for Rumph on the heritage CB's is such a big deal.

Btw for those saying that Rumph landed Ivey this cycle, seem to forget that he was a Golden commit.

I agree 100% with your concern on LB. I mentioned it a couple months ago. We lost Owens and Gordinier as well. We are razor thin if Shaq and Pink leave after next year and with our track record that isn't a stretch.

Saban came down here and cucked us hard in front of our home city.

He landed his helicopter, raped the **** out of Miami.... took whoever and whatever he wanted, and left us crying and empty in the aftermath.

Jobe and Surtain are better than any two DB's we signed out of South Florida this year.

And while we only recruit South Florida and give it 100%, Alabama just uses South Florida as a side piece.

It's just embarrassing.

All I know is UGA finished the way we should’ve and this staff have had a recruiting strategy like Golden’s staff, putting all ur eggs in the next year’s cycle. Dumb

Manny Diaz's father was responsible for tearing down the Orange Bowl.

Is Manny Diaz going to be responsible for tearing down our roster?

What the **** does that family have against our Canes?

Last year people here had a cause for concern about the two DB dopes who went to Florida.
This year no one is even talking about them.

Who cares.

The only thing that we honestly ****ed up at is not getting on Asante Samuel sooner, which was because they didn't listen to Rumph who said we needed to offer him.

Looks like the fact is Tyson Campbell wanted to leave the state, and his father clearly wanted him to go to UGA or even Bama.

PS2 was never really supposed to be an option in the first place for us. We really made up a lot of ground the last few months to the point I think we came in 2nd place.

Secondly we signed 5 studs at DB! don't forget that. We got 5 studs at the position, and we will get another 6 or so in the next class.
DB/WR/RB is not something I will ever really be worried about.

DT/DE/OL/QB are the positions I care about most.

Ah yes if we had only listened to that genius Mike Rumph who can't secure a committment from his own kin.

Guy being employed by this school is an absolute joke. Stealing money from this U right now.

You are not serious. If you are, you post has no merit.

On any given year our 5 DB Hall, Frierson, Blades, Ivey, Bethel standalone are enough to celebrate and I will expect them to be key contributors and maybe some super starters for us in the near future! But today with what we know we should have had one of the four key DB misses, not counting the other DB that signed with top schools from down here

We are who we are.. I'm not going whine about it. Life goes on.. Richt will not get us over the top he's too nice... Lol 2019 will be much of the same..

If you are considering UGA or Bama then you really are not into what Miami offers. They are different worlds socially are they not. I think we never had a chance with them. FSU, LSU are more similar to a Cane type of kid are they not? Just like kids who go to Texas are a different from kids who go to OU, TCU, LSU. Texas has a more country feel. Same with Bama and UGA. Am I right or wrong if teams are equal.
