Jason Marshall - not starting a separate thread on the kid, but I'm a "never give up" type. Probably only happens if the Gaytor check bounces.

Jordan Young - only reason he's on the list is because he is from FL, but not expecting this to happen. Would be nice if there was an Oladokun package deal.

Philip Riley - from Florida, but going to Southern Cal? If ever there was a Covid miracle, this could be it. Plus, Ceyair Wright is CB'd to USC. And Prophet Brown. This reminds me of Raising Arizona, when Nathan Arizona has got more than he can handle. "We thought it was unfair some shouId have so many whiIe others shouId have so few." Why must Mike Rumph be a rocky place where our CB seed can find no purchase?

Duce Chestnut - lots of old threads on this kid, would be nice, Cuse is a mess.

Charles Brantley - see, generally, Philip Riley above. Kid from Venice going to Michigan State dumpster fire?

Larry Smith - ordinarily, I'd say "ditto", but Indiana actually looks good for once.

Ricardo Hallman - similar, but insert "Wisconsin" where typed "Indiana" and change "once" to "usual". But, again, Covid miracles do happen.

Tyler Gaskin - (in my Allen Iverson voice) Navy? Navy?

Ja'Den McBurrows - Kid from Plantation going to Michigan? Can we pray for a cold winter?

Omarion Cooper - F$U. See, generally, Terrion Arnold below.

Damarius McGhee - only on the list because "Florida", but I doubt we pull a kid from Pensacola. I could see him dumping Tennessee, but staying within 4 hours of home.

Khalil Anderson - Atlanta kid, Pitt commit, Michigan State Crystal Ball? I am so confused.

Jordan Blackmon - Seems like we could win this battle if we actually tried. Not sure we are trying.

Malik Williams - Maybe the GA kids can learn from the FL kids, that Nebraska is no great prize. But, again, not sure we are trying.

Omar Burroughs - (in my Allen Iverson voice) Kansas? Kansas? (and, yeah, that sounds a lot closer to Practice? Practice?)

Kevin Knowles - F$U. See, generally, Terrion Arnold below.

Davion Sistrunk - if we can't pull a Melbourne player from Mizzou, what good are we?

Rance Conner - Booker T kid going to Loserville?

Daniel Edwards - Why would a Winter Park kid go to Illinois?

Noah Biglow - Armwood kid going to Pitt, would love to get feedback from Tee.

Derrick Edwards - Palmetto. Might not cost $250K.

Undecideds

Terrion Arnold - F$U is a dumpster fire, but he's from Tally and it seems like he wants SEC-SEC-SEC.

Markevious Brown - He can't possibly want VaTech or Arkansas or Ole Miss, can he? If Miami wins again this week and we don't have him, we need to write this kid off as an academic risk.

Marlen Sewell - a CB from Alabama is CB'd to Texas Tech? Shades of Christian Williams? Who knows.

Jordan Oladokun - I want this kid to be a part of our class, Tee vouches for him, and it seems like a possibility if Miami coaches remove heads from rectums.

Brylan Lanier - he's from Alabama, but we beat UAB. He seems tall enough to make Rumph/Diaz happy.

Da'Quan Gonzales - Does anyone have any solid info on this kid?

Excellent info.! Thank you for the research and details. Much appreciated! In your opinion, who do you think we end up securing?

I'm not one to "predict", I'm merely putting out the list of names of guys that would have a decent REASON to choose Miami. I tried to put it in a rough "5-star to 3-star" order, so that you can logically evaluate the board.

Given Covid, we have to put most of our emphasis on FL-GA kids, and those we have had prior dealings with (Duce), UNLESS we hire a high-profile position coach in January. In any event, that is very dicey, as a lot of these kids may choose to decide in December/enroll in January.

So we either circle back around to kids who have previously considered us, or we try to make the "stay home to make the crib great during these troubled times" argument.

In particular, it seems like we SHOULD be able to appeal to the current/former F$U commits, and a couple of the 3-stars.

Again, people can criticize Rumph, and some of that is valid. But where I have the bigger concern is what Manny plans on doing with the DC and CB coach positions going forward. If he plans on replacing coaches, will that thought process interfere with the recruiting, and will it cost us kids we otherwise coulda/woulda/shoulda signed, like Markevious Brown.

Some porsters are very self-convinced that Rumph should be fired. If Manny feels that way, he should do it right after the North Carolina game, and maybe even send out some smoke signals to certain recruits now (if he feels that any recruits are hesitant BECAUSE of Rumph).

Like it or not, it's Manny's decision to make. I think that recruiting efforts will just need some clarity on the issue.

Also, I would imagine that some of these kids have reached out to UM. That doesn't make anything a "guarantee", but from some of the chatter, plus the timing of Burns' decommit, it's a fairly safe conclusion to think that more stuff is happening than we currently know.

Any db from Florida that wants to go to FSU given the amount of db’s they’ve wasted is just a **** of a head scratcher. Dent was the number one db in his clas at one point and the only thing that has made an appearance are his dreads and even those are gone now.

I think were underestimating the amount of dislike towards our program from these Florida kids.
Even during Golden we wouldn’t land a dude like cooper. But FSU is getting gang raped by everybody and a dude that talented rather go there than come here.

If any db on Florida is still waiting to get a commitable sec offer than just go oos already and stop wasting even more time.

Philip Riley is from Washington, he only moved to Florida 2 years ago.

He was originally committed to Notre Dame but then flipped to USC because Donte Williams is a fantastic recruiter.

A lot of your summations are based on where the players are from, but recruiting is about selling, whether it's playing time, development in ability to get to the next level, or just flat showing great interest in a prospect, but region doesn't matter much to kids in today's era of the game. They'll go play in Alaska if they think it's what's best for them & how they come to that conclusion is based on what they're being sold by whoever's recruiting them.

The majority of Florida CB's excel at other programs outside of the state, so region is not as much of a factor as people would like to believe. At the end of the day, it simply comes down to what can we sell vs how well of job we do selling it.

As far as CB's listed, Brown & Covington are the only ones we have a realistic shot with, Arnold is the one they want they most but he's going to either UF, UGA or Bama.

I'm new on this site, but I just posted on Eye In The Sky about my son. Can you look at his tape and tell me what you think? The title is New To The Site. Great post by the way. Thanks.

Davion Sistrunk committed to Missouri is my favorite Corner outside of Jason Marshall instate he deserves a offer

I agree with you on the "where players are from" comment, as I believe that the delayed football season, lack of official visits, and general travel restrictions will make it hard to appeal to and/or recruit players from great distance. You are correct about the players not caring as much about region, but I think that this year is a very abnormal year for recruiting.

You may well be correct on our actual targets, I just thought it might be worthwhile to take a look at the full list of what might be...POSSIBLE. Not probable, but just POSSIBLE, given the Covid limitations on recruiting visits (and some of the relatively unusual "stay near home" stuff we are seeing, not only from HS recruits, but also current enrollees who might be heading to the portal), I think this is a list of guys that Miami should stay in contact with all the way to Signing Day.

I like him too, he's from my area of Florida. Space Coast doesn't get as much hype or recruiting attention.

Holistic, I saw the post and started to do a search. Is your son listed on any recruiting services? Not that it's a requirement, but I know it is another avenue for people to "find" and research a particular recruit. I would imagine that with this extended dead period, you will need some new/alternative avenues to get the attention of a coaching staff, particularly one on the other side of the country.

You might want to @ or reach out to a poster by the name of Tee3000. He is a HS DB coach in the Tampa area and his brother used to play DB at UM.

All the best to you and your son. Not to discourage you, but every year we seem to get a few threads where someone is working to build interest in a HS player who might be flying under the radar. I would imagine that this particular year is unique and abnormal in that respect, and as you pointed out, the lack of camps will be very challenging for lesser known recruits this year.

Listen, time to move on. He’s off the board for now. You started a legit thread. We need legit content threads, people came in here to post and it went off the rails. I’m out of patience with this shît.
@RVACane Can we keep this thread?

I can't stand the low effort "fire Rumph" posts and I like OPs idea to engage in actual CB conversation.
