A bye week kind of question - How likely is Mark Stoops?

Stoops is my guy right now. Will be watching close the rest of the season. Here is UK's schedule,

Looking at that’s schedule I think they can definitely get 9-10 wins

I don't hate Stoops, but he's not who I want. Especially if the hiring process is a joke.

If they wait to fire Manny until the season is over to save money, OR announce they're keeping Blake after firing Manny, I 100% think Stoops is the guy they go after. Waiting proves they're still being cheap and keeping BJ means they don't care who the coach is. If that's the case I think Blake pretends to interview a few coaches he's not going to hire before immediately giving the job to Stoops, because his buyout is low. BJ will be able to say Stoops knows how to win in the SEC blah blah blah. We'll run a 1995 run heavy offense, win 8 or 9 games every year until he retires and they'll be happy with that.

And until proven otherwise, this is what I'm expecting.
95 really wasn't run heavy...we had over 2,000yds recieving...

I can tell you with confidence that buyout in not an issue at the levels reported, and neither will be his salary (likely $6-7M a year).

Not saying we can’t afford it, I question if the admin will want to spend it. If they’re willing to go to $7mil a year…I’d be impressed.

Besides coaching here 20 years ago, why would he come here? In 2021, what is the benefit of Miami over Kentucky?
Two major advantages: recruiting base and the ACC Coastal v. the SEC East. Gives a huge opportunity for success that he will never have at UK. 10 wins is maxing out there. Win 10 here and you are in the mix.

He’d probably have a better opportunity at championships at the U than KY. Would that be enough incentive for him to come here is my question.

He's currently 54 - 50 overall.

Is he an average coach or is he simply coaching in tough conference?
He had to start with what he was given. He’s won 3 straight bowl games, including a Citrus Bowl win over Penn State, with basically what is probably the equivalent of a top 5-6 ACC team.

At Miami, he would start with a lot more talent than he did with Kentucky, and play teams with less talent.

Whether it’s him or someone else, just give me someone with organizational leadership and who can get the most out of his players.

I hope he's being given serious consideration. He's not the **** hire like Mario or Lane, but he very well might be the best long term solution.

Whether it's Mark or someone else, we will eventually end up with a real coach and a few years after he improves the team, CFB nation will agree that Miami is an automatic 10 win, annual top 10-15.

Succeeding at UM, which at this point is defined by winning the Coastal and posting 10 wins a season, is not "rocket surgery" we've just had coaches make it seem that way.

Not singling you out, but I've heard other people say similar things...

Why is Mario any "sexier" of a hire than Mark Stoops? That doesn't compute for me.

Maybe it's because I don't live in South Florida anymore, but I can tell you nobody in the rest of America gives a **** about Mario Cristobal. They don't think badly of him, he's just another coach of an above-average team. If Miami hired him, the rest of America would shrug.

It doesn’t matter what he does at UK, he’ll always be the second most important coach. Also I think he realizes this is his ceiling there, since he flirted big tim with FSU. Plus he has to play UF and UGA every year. Who is even close to that on Miami’s schedule?

No reason they don’t win 10 games. 11 wouldn’t surprise me. The real test is how they matchup with UGA at the start of that game.
